She is on record calling for a 500% increase in syrian refugees to 65,000.

Yes thats not hundreds of thousands so I mispoke about that.

As for open borders with mexico thats what we have now and she is a strong critic of trumps idea to build a wall.

Amnesty and no wall equals open borders and no limit to the number of mexicans and others who come across the border

That's a flood gates?? I would have to say that stance is alarmist and misleading. Sorry, it doesn't make your position viable to misrepresent facts like that.

I don't see the IIRIRA as bigoted, perhaps a bit over the top in some areas- like lowering the standard for immediately deportation. However as far as signing it, the Senate's vote shows us they could have over turned a veto.

It was more a compromise to get amnesty for those already here for a year IIRC and a nod to the right wing to get tough on crime...

Perhaps wash is a better term than bigoted... :peace

We have too many poor people on welfare now that the budget cannot provide for

Adding more useless bodies is pointless

Particularly when they include an unknown number of radical muslims who may commit acts of terrorism after they get here

You are doing several things.

First of all, you are assuming the refugees will be 'worthless'.
Second of all, you are also not taking into account the several year examination of each and every one of the refugee to make sure they are not radical.
Third of all, you are complaining about the 'too many people on welfare'' now, but considering you label yourself 'conservative', it seems that those people aren't willing to do the things needed so that people can get themselves out of poverty. If someone works 40 hours a week, and still needs government assistance, it isn't THEY who are leaching off the government, it is their employer.

I know. I lived along different parts of the border for over 25 years. It is sad that this country rewards the dishonest criminals with a citizenship when there are millions of law abiding people all over the world not allowed to immigrate to this country because they obey our laws. Immigrants have made this country great not criminals. I guess we support lying and criminal behavior anymore over honesty and law abiding people. I feel sorry for the younger generation that will have to deal with the 10's if not 100's of millions of criminals entering this country. They will destroy this country just like they did their country they are fleeing. SAD.

Do do assume that they will demand much and contribute little.

If we only accepted college grads or people with skills that adds to our economy that would be different.

But that isnt the case.

Employers should pay what the job is woth.

If a worker is only qualifed to push a lawnmower a landscaping contractor cannot afford to pay them $20 or $30 an hour because the homeowner will not pay that much
