Remember what was said about the acceptance of Barack Obama. People will move forward and accept whomever is the winner. Again, the media likes to talk just to talk. I think if anything changes after this crazy cycle that we should ALL look at the media and demand that they stop putting a spin on how they feel and how they report the news and just simply report all of the news.

This shows the problem of the average American in my opinion. They want their way or nothing at all. All Americans should respect the President of the United States. That doesn't mean agree with everything but have respect for the leader of our country. Politics aside we are all Americans and this is our process.

Respect is earned not given. The president is not king or emperor.

Not surprising really, most are voting for one because they hate the other. Any means are justified if they bring a chance to stop the other candidate, even if its after the election has been lost. As a Sandersista, I sympathize with those in the situation, if not with their causes.

That is pretty much a staple for this election season. Most voting for Hillary or Trump are mainly voting for them because they hate the alternative choice.

So that doesn't surprise me that they won't accept the opposition candidate as "legit" if they won the presidency.

There will be no civil war. Trump supporters will huff and puff for a few months and then it will go back to normal until the 2018 election (or soon before that).

Presidential respect is *not* about the man! :doh

It is about respecting the votes of your fellow citizens and the democratic process!

Don't respect the man - respect the office!

We always feel the intensity of the moment, but this will pass soon (and relatively uneventfully).

Now Trump TV may, or may not, be around for awhile. But I see none of the coming violent apocalypse some predict. Maybe a few isolated instances immediately afterwards, but that's about it. Trump's a whiner, and the hard-core fringe of his supporters seem similar. Most of his supporters will simply and uneventfully move-on, like the losing electorate always does.

Trump may coalesce his movement around Trump TV. I think it is fair to say he coalesced a movement of sorts.

But my point in my post was: I don't see any type of violent struggle springing forth.

Ya we keep hearing that.

I seriously doubt it, I think is only focus will be to try to get the Trump Companies into some sustainable post POTUS run form so that he will have something to give his kids.

That is going to be plenty time consuming and hard to do.

He does not have a lot of years left here.

Not yet.

But if the elite stick to the plan "We dont have to change, we will just stonewall and wait for the ones who dont agree to die and we will mock and ridicule them as they go" then there will be.

I dunno.

I suspect those that serve their country in the armed forces do. And hopefully, quite a few others.

I was educated early-on in a Polish Catholic Grammar school by nuns. We were raised to believe in the country, democracy, and the democratic process. Every morning started with prayers & the pledge of allegiance. Everybody I knew in the neighborhood was like this. Only several decades before, America and democracy saved the world (from Hitler). And no one knew this better than the Poles.

Those values never left me or my family and friends, I guess.

I also suppose perhaps times have changed. But the truths within the Constitution, and democratic principles, don't change! :thumbs:

You should be, from what I have seen most people who ever had that idea either bungled the job by lying to their kids or they gave up, decided that they had no chance with a message that was smack dab opposed to popular culture.

Trump did it, you did it, I half did it.....most did far worse.

Thanks!

But in large part I credit the Catholic Schools they went to. The kids got not just a good academic education, but excellent values instilled into them as well. Plus, through the schools my kids had pretty decent peers and friends. It's so much easier to raise kids when they have good peers!

But Catholic schools have a big advantage: they kick the bums & troublemakers out. They also enforce values, and require family participation. Public schools can do none of this.

In other words, the American people aren't willing to blame each other for the legitimate, but tragic outcome of the election.
