Of course, even though their primary gripes are the same, political ideology divides them forever. But, imagine a scenario where the Bernie and Trump supporters could find common ground and form a strong coalition.

Is there one?

I'm thinking the Depolorables would have to give up their fixation on god, flag, and guns. Meanwhile, the B-Bots would have to get a job and move out of mom's basement. That would get them focused on what matters, better jobs and more opportunity.

not sure Bernie needs such a scenario. without rigging by the democratic party like superdelegates and DWS, Bernie would have most likely been the Democratic candidate.

of course he's probably too old to run again, but there will be others.. I think that groundswell is just starting.

and after 4 years of HC we are probably about to get, I am thinking Vladimir Putin has a chance next time, so long a he promises to fix the crap HC is going to unleash.

Did everyone dip into the sauce today for Monday liquid lunch? Did I miss the memo?

He fell several million votes short. But, yes, the DNC stacked the deck against him from the get-go. Rightfully so. They did not want a Trump.

They both hate Hillary.
They're not that different on trade and war.

Contrary to pop characatures, a lot of Bernie progressives are more like Trump supporters than you think

there is no "rightfully so" in a representative democracy. The will of the voters was at least partially circumvented. what happens when YOU are part of the ones who think something different than the lockstep?

one thing I am proud of the Republican party for: they allowed for the will of the electorate.

It'll come back around... if the dems think you can build a utopia on a house of cards, they're dreaming.

anyway , on topic.... yeah there would have to be some concessions, but it's not an impossible thought... especially after 4 years of Hillary.

I'll try socialism if they follow the EXACT intent of the constitution as written for our rights. (that's going to mean changes to some standing "laws", btw)

Who said Bernie hates Hillary?
Maybe you should read the OP, he's talking about their supporters.

leftists have a very hard time seeing the difference between a candidate and their supporters... in a couple of ways.

methinks it is what gives them the power of their "Walk in lockstep with the machine" style of unity

Something I thought there would be more of was NeverHillary Dems, Liberals and progressives.
It's supremely disappointing.

Except that one group wants no minimum wage, and the other, $15 an hour, you may have had a point.

If you had someone normal running at the top of the GOP ticket, you may have seen some of that.

Yeah, yeah...and look what that got you--Donald "Gonna lose by a lot" Trump. The DNC played this perfectly. The play actually earned them my respect.

Never happen.

Never happen.

I know. They hate each other. But, if both groups focused on what really mattered to them, they'd probably find that they agree on more things than they disagree.

But, I understand how that disagree-thing trumps agreement. I experience it every morning in a trans thread with one of our fearless leaders. Ideologues don't budge. It's like a religion with them.

That's not true.
You're framing all GOP as harder line right wing.
Just like with Dems, GOP is a coalition of various right leaning beliefs.

For Trump

No, that's not what I mean by it.
I think it's unfortunate, that people are normalizing corruption by conceding to a candidate whose well know for it.

If you had someone normal running at the top of the GOP ticket, you may have seen some of that.

I think Trump is 100% guilty of being inarticulate and choosing very bad ways of describing what he wants.
With that said, he's not extreme by any means, he's a moderate.

well, i'm glad you respect corruption. you're exactly the type of voter the establishment wants.

I thought for sure, once Trump got the nomination and Bernie lost to a stacked deck, Trump would pivot more moderate and try capitalize on the disgruntled Bernie camp. But, No. All aboard the failboat. He spectacularly went off the deep end on Judge Curiel and so began the dumpster fire.

No. I just understand politics. Funny that someone on a political debating forum would not.

hmmm, maybe you do.. but what I am almost sure you don't understand is that if you "win at all costs" you almost always pay with any principles you had that would have made the aftermath worth it.
