Well Campaign signs are going up at our local polling place ( Library ) and I noticed a couple of Democrat signs that for some reason decided to include this pretty specific adjective

The word " honest ".

Now this is Texas but I started wondering if this was a sign ( literally ) that some Democrats are trying to disconnect from the Hillary camapaign and from the Democrat party in general

I see no other reason for any candidate to explicity describe themselves in this way. Honesty should be a given, right and none of the GOP candidates thought it was neccesary to add this descriptive and dont get me wrong, Im not fooled in the least.

But the Democrats do have a honesty problem, even before they ran Hillary, and now its expontially worse and it would seem some of their candidates are trying to get ahead of the issue.

I was taught that, if the sound of the next syllable starts with a vowel (like honest, ˈä-nəst), one should use 'an' rather than 'a'.

Do you think that lack of trust, as a problem, is unique to democrats ? Other people don't :

All politics is local, and Democrats in some Texas precincts may need to make sure folks know they are A Honest Democrat.

They could have very well been distancing themselves from Clinton (since many democrats are not really pleased with her being the candidate). And Donald Trump has called her "lying Hillary" from the start. I do not feel that she has lied any more than he has. I do not think the democrats have an honesty problem any more than republicans. That seems to be the case with many polticians in general. I seem to recall certain WMD's that were the case for invading Iraq (true lie, or merely a fallesy).

Honest is one of the oldest words used in campaigning that there is and ALL parties have a problem with it. I lean right and to deny that is just silly. In fact it's a good example OF dishonesty or ignorance about politicians/campaigning.

Sure it is, but consider it in the context described in my first post. Again, none of the GOP candidates decided to include it as a descriptive and there are some on the Left who don't trust Hillary, and for good reason. I doubt any Sanders supporters trust her and I bet they have little trust for the DNC.'

If Sanders supporters are any indication of the the younger generations value set than there's some hope for us yet.

Pretending that this isn't a issue or that its some partisan outlier that needs to be ignored is probably the worst thing the Democratic party could do at the moment.

Context doesn't trump reality. None of the GOP in your area on this date have used it but many Politicians period do and have. As for sanders supporters I can't speak or even pretend to. I now the ones I know are voting for her or they will vote for her if they feel they need too in order to keep Trump out. Like I already said though I can't speak for them or ny others. Politicians in general have issues with honesty acting like it's a left or right thing is again silly, dishonest and or ignorant.
