Trump

Thus avoiding the whole question of how he got here, why he got all of those votes, which had to do with a whole lot of other things than Hillary.....plus as you will recall just about everyone said that almost anyone else but Trump would have an easier time beating Hillary yet the voters did not care enough about Hillary to vote for someone else.

No, not at all.

Observing how he got there supports my conclusion. He appealed to a segment of the electorate no one else appealed to. Thus he got all of those votes while the other 6 or 7 candidates had to split all of the traditional Republican votes. In addition to that, he had a force multiplier in the form of free media coverage.

Apparently Trump supporters also don't seem to care that he has no policy plans, no clue how to implement them and most glaringly no clue how to govt works.

Trump's entire platform is that he will hire the best people but his train wreck of a campaign has proven that he can't even hire marginally competent people.

That's a really good last point, but not entirely fair.

They were actually saying, tactically you look at the two campaign managers.

Kelly Anne Conway is a pollster, who spends a lot of time being a TV surrogate.

Robby Mook is a ground game, get out the vote, campaign strategist...

While I actually admire Kelly Anne for having the balls to go out there and defend the indefensible everyday... she doesn't seem to be able to harness Trump and come up with a cohesive campaign strategy to get to 270.

So your response is when he says something that not only does he not mean it... his voters understand that and don't believe it either by default?

Are you ****ing serious?

Just like as with a woman with Trump only about every twentieth word is worth paying attention to.

It is his attitude that is being measured, not his words.

Being overly literal misses the point.

I stopped reading right there. I'm tired of Trump and his little baby whiny supporters always blaming someone or something else.

I've listened to Trump for decades. He loves the persona the media portrays of him. Even the bad stuff. He use to BRAG about. He loves it. He always has, and deep down he still does. He also loves the free media publicity he gets daily.

So you stopped reading so you could whine.

Brilliant post.

I didn't write this, but I fully agree with it.

Millions of Trump supporters feel this way about Donald J. Trump. "We don't care if the guy swears or how many times he's been married or who he voted for, or what his income tax return shows. We want the problems fixed. Yes he's an egomaniac, but we don't care. We know he's not a racist, or bad to women, or all the other things the liberal media is trying to label him with. We know he's raised a good family, and that says a lot about him.

The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republican Party is two faced & gutless, and illegals are everywhere and Muslims are openly trying to hurt this country and make the civilized world adjust to them. We want it all fixed!

We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he fights with Megan Kelly, Rosie O'Donnell, and so many of the elected establishment.

We don't care that Romney, and the Bush family, and so many other top old and new Republicans refuse to endorse him for their own selfish reasons, and we know what they are. We don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslim terrorists, we don't care that he tried some businesses that didn't work out.

This country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims, where every Tom, Ricardo and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in, AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED. And TRUMP is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.

We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic and Republican Party. We're angry about the Iran deal, the budget, treatment of Israel, military weakness, lobbyists, special interests, overpaid politicians with their self-serving bills and back room deals, trade deals, loss of jobs, manipulated economic numbers, businesses fleeing, and even the phoney pay for play Clinton Foundation.

Americans are no longer going to be fooled, and the movement is out to change the direction we're taking. Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn't have lobbyist money holding him, he doesn't have political correctness restraining him, and all you know is that he has been very successful, a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, he's flexible, and he's also not a politician. And he says he'll fix it. And we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar.

Public service has become elected greed. This may be our only chance to have a non-politician, despite his flaws, try and correct the mess, at least for 4 years.

We must take the shot, because the consequences of putting Hillary Clinton in office are frightening.

There is a tidal wave happening, and it’s going to overcome much of what's happened to this country.
:( poor Trump fans think he will fix things when he doesn't even know what the problems are. So they tie themselves into logical and moral foolishness like this in order to defend the object of their sad little personality cult.

Looking forward to this guy losing Bigly.

Our enemies are making fun of us! Quick, Trump, find us a safe space from their mean words!
They really are as bad as the SJWs claim to oppose.

So what you're telling us Hawkeye, just so we're all clear, bearing in mind you're one of his biggest proponents is that you don't listen to much of anything Trump actually says?

Oh it's attitude that is his measurement...

And if you only care about every twentieth word the man says, you are basically stuck like these men who can only speak the beginning, the middle, or ends of words.

When Trump 1st bust on the scene his followers said the liked him because he told the truth. That he didn't pull punches to get voters. That he was brutally honest. But now? He's saying things that HE DON'T even believe. And his supporters know he's lying and doesn't mean what he's saying.. But they still support him.

There's something else going on here. I think we all know what's it's about.
Sunk Costs and Tribalism.

Hawkeye doesn't support Trump because he has good policies, but because Trump is a bad person. He calls it "The Rebellion" or some such

I listen, lightly, to the literal translation of his words.

He is giving a performance, and he is working on a much bigger stage than policy ideas or plans.

The deal was always that what he says before the election matters just as little as what everyone else has ever told us to get our votes, which is to say not much. Trump will figure it out when he gets there, when he decides he will let is know. Everything he says now is the entertaining us for our votes, that and proving to us the he is one of us in spirit, even if cant be in reality because he is a member of the elite.

"The Rebellion"? What, are we in Star Wars now?

The above is brought to you from a universe far, far, far, oh so very, very far, far away!

And who said the Brits don't have a sense of humor? Monty Python was a very funny bunch. Monty Python and the 'Holy Grail' is one of my favorites.

Trump was neck and neck with Hillary when Kellyanne joined the campaign and now he's headed for a landslide loss. Not really her fault but it's hard to argue that she did a good job.

Btw I just thought this tweet pretty much summed up her entire role in the campaign.

Thanks for pointing that out again, one of the funniest things this election :lamo

The original was better in that it didn't include the ridiculous statement about Muslims in the second paragraph.

Yes folks, here we have the Trumpista/far right viewpoint boiled down to its essentials. Don't bother with literacy, with attempts at being articulate, with clarity of logic, because it will just be difficult to understand.

Just go by "attitude", meaning, not Trump's actual attitude, which is that of a difficult schoolboy, but the quick flash and bang of easy to digest cliches and rhetoric, simplistic sayings that suggest (erroneously) that he is one of your tribe.

And (oops! shouldn't have let that one out) let's throw in a quick one liner about the inferiority of women. The good ol' boys will chuckle over that.

Trump will fix nothing, but he will probably bankrupt the USA just like he did to his companies, four times.

Of course, he can probably get a loan from one of Putin's oligarchs to cover the cash shortfall when the banks and investors no longer want to touch our junk bonds.

I will be voting Trump not because I like or appreciate him, but mostly because he is so vehemently opposed by people whose policies I oppose, including many Republicans who allowed the status quo to prevail rather than risk their lucrative positions that have year by year increased their power, influence, prestige, and personal wealth.

He is the only one running who has any chance or motive to break that cycle. And he is the only one who is pledged to protect the Supreme Court. And he is the only one running with a track record for find ways to solve difficult problems and get things done that others have failed to do. He may be absolutely terrible, but he cannot possibly be worse than the status quo on steroids that we will have if anybody else is elected.

The original was better in that it didn't include the ridiculous statement about Muslims in the second paragraph.

I wonder if you'll still consider it ridiculous AFTER Hillary opens the borders and brings a few million Islamic immigrants to the country? Just saying.
I think Angela Merkel (Hillary's doppelganger) already did in Germany and they're having quite a few (Muslim) problems yes or no?
