The right has already guaranteed even before Clinton is in office, they won't let her select a Supreme court justice either. Sound familiar, These people are going to treat the first Women president exactly like the first black president. You can't fix stupid and you can't drag people into the 21st century when they want to stay in the 1950's. There is only one point in this and that is the right has to be stopped , otherwise they will get their way and that way will destroy this country. Demographics will get rid of them totally in a couple of decades but a couple decades might be to late. They are by far the biggest threat to this country. There is nothing that come even a close second.
 
This message has to be out for the country to see, it could give Democrats the house also. They are just stupid.

Unbelievable he McCain pulled it back, but everyone has to know the reason he did that is because of what I just wrote , it will hurt them at the ballot box. If they are in a position to do anything after the election, I guaranty they will not except any supreme court judge selected by Hillary Clinton. They would destroy this country rather then not getting their way. They have to go.

The contention that they are doing this because they are racist and sexist is just stupid. They aren't doing this because Hillary is a woman, they're doing it because she's a democrat. This is the standard, partisan Republocrat tactics of "the other side is always wrong". If Hillary were a Republican, they wouldn't be doing this but the Deomcrats would be looking to block or run significant interference on her SCOTUS picks.

This is not unique and it is not new and it is not racism or sexism promoting this. This is just how rabidly partisan our system has become.

The biggest threat to the country are the non-thinkers who are also engaged in this level of blind partisanship.

Thank you for pointing out some sanity in this world. Your comment is spot on :) And I like that as a Libertarian you and I can agree. I once was a Democrat but now find myself in the position of supporting Republicans.

You know? Her being able to nominate the next Justice is one the reasons it is so difficult to vote for her in spite of how horrible Trump could be as President. What the country needs like a hole in the head is another liberal in the USSC. That is almost a knock out problem with Clinton and would be, if the Senate couldn't prevent her natural inclination.

Can I also point out your biggest argument flaw? Our country has been successful from day one because of our two partisan system. It makes sense to have conservative and liberal parties if nothing more than for the checks and balances of all decisions. Whoever earns the electoral win will be President. And for better or worse, we as a country will support them. A Supreme court justice will be selected and put into position. It will be painstakingly difficult for both sides to agree but at the end of the day, it will all be worth it because it will hopefully be someone who is respectful to all Americans and not just the liberal or the conservative.

I personally find your comments offensive in that you assume someone who is against Hillary will live or is living in the 1950's. I will also say this, demographics will not weed out conservatives. Our country has leaned maybe a little liberal lately, but like all things, there will be a time when the liberal people get tired of some of the liberals ways. I won't go into details, but things have a way of coming full circle. I don't know how old or how young you are, but why do you have so much anger against one group of people? Do you really think that Trump supporters are angry bigots or uneducated rednecks? That's what the media would have you to believe. But speaking from one perspective, that is very, very wrong. Trump supporters are people like me. I was at one time more liberal but I always veered towards the middle. A little liberal and a little conservative. I'm educated with a college degree, own my own business, am a mother of three wonderful children. I came from low income family where my dad and mom had little education. Colleges uninviting public speakers whom they don't agree with. Children needing therapy for silly Halloween costumes or scary mascots. We have people vandalizing yards, cars etc and even beating up people because they do not agree with how they feel or whom they support.

That you cannot blame on one party. If there is a biggest threat to this country - it would be that. It would be people spreading hate and spreading fear simply because they do not agree with someone else. And on that, I would say nothing else will ever come close.

Agreed. If she is elected, I hope the Senate will withhold its advice and consent in the case of anyone she may nominate to the Supreme Court whose judicial philosophy the necessary majority of Senators dislikes.

Yeah - stupid... The dream candidate for most conservatives would be Condi Rice - both a woman and black. WE DON'T CARE ABOUT A CANDIDATE'S GENDER OR SKIN, WE CARE ABOUT RESULTS. It's only Dems. who make gender and skin color an issue.

Demographics won't weed out The haters, that is total baloney , minority's make up 1/3 of our population now, that number increases daily, so when they become the majority, do you honestly believe these minorities will vote for a party that **** on them daily over the years,. Yes I hate these conservatives and will be glad to see them gone, I would hate any group that is a threat to my country, I know for a fact that this group of haters would destroy our country if they didn't get their way. , They are the enemy and I will do everything I can to get rid of them. There will be another conservative party and that group will have learned that they have to govern, with the other party . They won't be able to call themselves Republicans anymore , they will need a new name the old one will be to poisoned by that time.

Every democratic president since then has chipped away at it but in reality they haven't been able to do much. You want to see what they want to do for America, simply look at anyone of Paul Ryans budget proposals over the years.

Actually this extreme partisanship is pretty new. I believe it has to do with the desperation that has resulted from Republican policy ideas that have been proven detrimental to most of us. These are what defined the difference between the parties for 40 years and now that they are indefensible the only alternative for them is gridlock.

It had nothing to do with that.

It had everything to do with the fact that the GOP has no new ideas and no good old ideas. Their further-conservative branch crapped all over itself with the Tea Party, which basically went into D.C. and joined the "elite" they railed against, without accomplishing anything other than showing the world that our congress is too immature to agree on a budget. They're so bankrupt on ideas that some felt the need to triple down on their past stupidity.

Fortunately, a less senile aide pointed out to McCain that they can't very well just plain not put anyone on the Supreme Court, and that the longer they do that, the more stupid and childish they look.




Whatever happens, this election will hopefully shake up the GOP. They cannot survive if their sole platform is "steal ball, go home; hide in daddy's attic".

I know the right knows that their years are few, this response of hate is selling to a large group of people in this country, who are paranoid and not very bright. The other thing they are doing all around the country , is trying to take the vote away from blocks of people that generally vote democrat. It's a national program, it can be seen very readily in states that are governed by the right. Their toast and I don't think there is anything they can do about it.
 
What needs to happen is that the Senate should have 60 days to begin holding hearings on SCOTUS appointments. If not, then they've waived their right to advise and consent.

And what I hope happens now is that Obama withdraws Garland's name and let's Hillary appoint the next SC Justice. And then when Ginsberg retires, she'll appoint her replacement. And if Thomas retires, as has been rumored, then she gets to appoint someone in his place.

Garland was a good centrist nominee who would have provided balance that's always claimed to be sought after. But the buttplug GOP/Tea Party wasn't having it even though they themselves had mentioned Garland as a solid appointee before Obama named him.

So cool. Hillary will likely appoint the next three SC Justices, all of whom will be center-left and the damage that Scalia, Alito, and Thomas have done can then be undone.

And Kennedy ain't getting any younger either. :peace
