There are some interesting points in this article. IMO, it not only explains the genesis of the Deplorable movement, and why Trump is pushing it. But, it also shows the rift in the GOP--I call it the rift between the good Republicans and the Deplorable ones.

...even some conservatives who are critical of the media at large say outlets like Breitbart have taken the perception of liberal media bias and driven it overboard, to the point where their readers are simply unwilling to accept basic facts if they don't comport with their worldview.
"There was this effort to respond to media bias, both real and perceived, that meant discrediting mainstream journalistic institutions, but it's got to the point where people don't trust anything," one Fox News source said. "It's mind-blowing. You can play an unedited video for two minutes that includes Trump contradicting all of these things to make your point --- and they insist that the video is doctored. It's really extraordinary."

"In the regular conservative movement, Breitbart is a laughing stock," said Shapiro. "It's all spin. It's a propaganda outfit."

I think the most confusing part is the labeling of "conservative" and "republican" now post-trump nomination. I can't tell if I'm in the basket of deplorables, which part of the basket, or if I was never placed in there.

Most conservatives are not like the Breitbart loonies. So, you might be safe. :)

One sees the same thing when discussing religion...especially between those who are religious, but disagree about what this or that verse plainly says.

Quite honestly, and not to evoke 'True Scotsman', but I'm not sure Trump and his followers can still be described as 'Republicans'. They are not in communion with the leadership, that's for sure. And Trump is not a Republican, though he co-opted the nomination and a large chunk of the Republican electorate.

When Trump is done with his final weeks of destruction, he will take his movement and start his media empire, and maybe even start a third party.

From what I can see, Trump's followers (and Trump himself) seem to subscribe more to "fudge the party", than "let's work-it out, together"!

"Seem to subscribe..." ?

Let me ask you this, what has Donald Trump done during this primary and election season to indicate in any way he seeks compromise on anything, no matter how temporary?

When Trump is done with his final weeks of destruction, he will take his movement and start his media empire, and maybe even start a third party.

He won't ever enter the political arena again except as an occasional curiosity to be heard from now and then. He'll be fortunate if this accidental campaign of his doesn't outright destroy him. He's suffered a level of exposure he obviously didn't anticipate, and based on the treatment that past GOP POTUS nominee losers have received, it's a good bet that only a few of his most ardent followers will retain goodwill towards him. The rest will despise him.

There are also people who won't stay at or patronize his properties anymore:

How Donald Trump's Divisive Campaign Is Hurting His Hotel Business

And after his degrading defeat in this election, his brand is going to get hit even harder.

I have no sympathy for the man. I hope he ends up living out his last days in a cheap condo in some Florida backwater, clicking through the TV channels, grumbling out loud to himself about how terrific he used to be, and that it all ends in Greg Stillson fashion.

Near as I can figure, if you ever agreed with anything Trump said you are a Deplorable. If you never agreed with anything Trump said but still believe that Hillary is corrupt and dangerous for the country you are a Deplorable. If you never agreed with anything Trump said and will vote for Hillary or will stay home on Nov 8th you're deplorable but not a Deplorable.

More like... if you agree with anything Trump ever said you are a racist that approves of sexusl assault. Ridiculous.

While I agree it is overboard it is also expected. CNN and others lie about basic things so how can we trust them about basic facts?

You're not a deplorable just not the sharpest tool in the shed

You will get infractions for this type of a post...

It's always a good idea to fact check any article, no matter where you read it.

Agreed? How else would one find out about the lies?

You can't trust them. They are the propaganda arm of the corrupt globalist and controlled by the same people controlling Globalist Granny.

The great thing about reporting on Trump is media simply takes what he said and prints it. Granted they distort the context, but so what? He still said it.

Take this sexual assault thing. He said he forces kisses and grabs women by the *****. They print it. A few days later, women come out and say, "Trump forced himself on them and grabbed their *****." They print it.

Easy money.

You... and they... are missing something very important.

This Trump fiasco has buried a lot of things which are important. Of that I have no doubt. Had Trump been a normal person instead of a buffoon, we would all be talking about something completely different today, like maybe Hillary's many missteps and shady connections and actions. But, Trump, being Trump, has completely drowned out anything else which is newsworthy.

Picture a Ted Cruz candidacy right now. One where Ted simply lays low and let's all the wikileaks on the Clintons dominate the news cycles day after day. The result? No one would be talking about his anti-gay and ultra-orthodix religious views. He probably wins the election handily.

Trump made his bed. It has bugs. Lots of bugs, big brown bugs. So many bugs that no one notices that there is a big crack in the window.
