Trump Screwed the Pooch Again

Trump did much better in the second debate. He landed punch after punch on Hillary, who didn't seem to be able to communicate effectively.

But there was one point where Trump blew it and probably damaged his chances, and that was where he said he see Hillary thrown in jail.

Ugly, ugly. Nobody wanted to hear that. That is not how we roll in America. We do not put our political opponents in jail.

Trump just doesn't have what it takes. He is going to lose.

I thought it was the failure to answer the question about Syria. He talked and talked and talked....but didn't talk about the humanitarian crisis in Syria, which means he doesn't know about it. Unforgivable for a presidential candidate not to know about the biggest crisis on the planet since the Holocaust. That's what sank Gary Johnson's chances of a decent showing.

Following the Clinton Spin line? Pathetic!

That's not what he said/meant. He meant "toss her in jail" because she is a genuine criminal...not because she's his opponent.

Perhaps, but such matters should rest with the sober deliberations of officials, not in a political debate opposite that very opponent.

Why not?

Specifically.

The establishment has been near silent on it.....

YOu might as well go all in and repeat Hillary's line: "What difference does it make?"

If they do one more investigation, the tenth one will be free!

Every time somebody mentions "screwed the pooch" it brings up some really nasty images in my head!

Like the one time Bill did Hillary?

If anyone else had done what Hillary did they'd be in jail. I thought it wasn't a good night for Trump but I liked that line.

Bush and Rove aren't in jail.

Actually, people who are really concerned about email security should be asking why the Secret Service isn't in charge of email security. Why did the system allow this to happen. What is being done to fix it?

The secret service shouldn't have to babysit the state Department, or any of the other Departments in the cabinet. Secondly, the White House has a Chief Technology Officer, so if anyone should be in charge of such a thing it would be that person.

I thought it was decent night for Trump since he it the openings she gave him unlike the first debate where he seemed dazed and confused (and she wasn't much better). Everyone claimed Hillary would eat him for lunch in this format and it didn't happen whatsoever.

Bush and Rove aren't in jail.
And they should be. Methinks Trumps absolute hatred of the Bush's might land Dubya behind bars. Trump loves New York and if there's even a hint of Bush complacency in regards to 9-11 then there'll be no mercy from Trump.

Donald Trump doesn’t seem to care about reducing corruption instead he only sees it is a tool to attack his opponent. Because as I understand it he has not proposed any new laws and regulation to deal with the corruption and wrongdoing he accusing Hillary of doing, to make himself and other Republican accountable if they do the same thing.

Trump have also admitted that he gave donation to politicians to gain influence and he have also often donated to prosecutors investigating him and his business. While as I understand it he has not proposed any new laws and regulation to stop the practice.

So a Trump presidency could mean corrupt politicians using accusation of corruption as a political weapon against their corrupt political opponents. That just like in Brazil there will be no reason to deal with the reasons behind corruption and no interest in stopping the corruption on their own political side.

I think it's exactly what his committed base wanted to hear. At every rally, he works up a chant of "jail her". "Jail her" has been the GOP meme for the last three years. Jailing political opponents is exactly what a large portion of the right (his main base) wanted to hear, and that is what makes it so bad....

Before we get up on our high horses, it would be well to remember that there have been at least 16 incidents in which Democrats have tried to prosecute political opponents. I don't know of any times when Republicans have tried this.

Before I check that list and reubt: how many of that number (1) promised to do so as a campaign platform, and (2) did so despite the fact that a police agency like the FBI already said that they do not recommend charges, and (3) despite the fact that multiple, preferably 5, other individuals in their situation were not prosecuted and in fact nobody batted an eyelash?

See...the problem with analogies is that it's easy to misunderstand them, or to cheat in a way that appeals to others with a certain confirmation bias. I may be wrong, but I am guessing that none of the things listed in your link meet my three criteria - criteria which happen to be essential because they define the situation.

Can you, or are you willing, to answer on point and directly?
