I see only two groups still committed to pulling the lever and voting Trump. The first is the infamous basket of deplorable - racists, sexists, xenophobes, Islam haters, and those who simply are motivated by negative factors against government and what they love to call political correctness. These are the Hillary Haters who hear only the dog whistle of far right issues and their TV set gets only FOX News. They will still vote Trump.

The other is the single issue obsessed groups who see Trump as nominating Supreme Court justices who will favor their single issue. The two most obvious of these are the right to life anti-abortion crowd and the NRA gun lovers crowd. The will still vote Trump and pay no attention to this latest scandal involving the Access Hollywood tape.

So that gives Trump perhaps 30% of the vote.

So who else gives Trump any sizable vote? Where does that come from?

Sorry, but I'm thinking your "two groups" contention is a bit simplistic. The thing is, it's not easy to put people in a box as you've done here. Take me, for example...

I'm not one of those people you characterize as "deplorable".

I'm not simply motivated by negative factors against government or political correctness.

While I will never vote for Hillary, I don't "hate" anybody.

I am deaf to dog whistles.

I don't own a TV.

I'm not a single issue person at all. I agree with Trump on some issues and don't agree with others.

I haven't yet read any details about this tape, but what little I know of it leads me to think liberals, at least, are a bit hypocritical for trying to make a big deal about it if any of them excused Bill for his actual activities all those years ago. On the other hand, any on the right who made a big deal about Bill way back then are being a bit less hypocritical if they make light of this tape because it's just talk. There is no action involved as far as I know. In any case, I am quite able to recognize the revelation of this tape for what it is...an October surprise. I'm also quite able to recognize the feigned outrage that is being expressed. Frankly, in light of the important issues facing our nation that will result from this election, I find this tape to be a minor issue.

So, haymarket, where would you say I fit in, since I still consider Trump to be the lesser of evils and will still vote for him?

Not single issue voter here either. I wasn't a Trump supporter during the primary, Kasich was who I thought the nation needed, but now the choice that's left is Trump or Hillary.

No matter how many dog whistles are blown on Trump, no matter how many faux outrages, I still believe that it's less potential damage to the nation than a Hillary presidency.

Do these exercises in wishful thinking actually make you feel better? You realize Hillary is only leading in the polls by a couple of percentage points, right?

The SPCA?

They have lots of ******s to grab.

you are someone that processes information poorly

Okay - lets take you at your word and NOT try to put you in those two boxes which admittedly exist without challenge.

How many other people do you think are like you and will still vote Trump despite all the negative information about him?

This campaign does NOT make me feel better. Just the opposite. I have never been so disgusted with the national campaign in all my 67 years.

Those that favor the party for a bigger federal government, over the party for a huge federal government, will still vote a straight "R" ticket no matter which buffoon has their name on the ballot. Those that favor the party for a huge federal government, over the party for a bigger federal government, will still vote a straight "D" ticket no matter which buffoon has their name on the ballot.

This tendency (over 60% of the vote?) is what gives us congress critters and POTUS candidates with very high negative ratings along with an ever increasing national debt and endless military adventures to attain world peace. So long as the EC system remains winner take all then one of the two major parties will prevail in each POTUS affirmation vote. Get ready for Clinton45 to take her turn at growing the federal government.

Well, first of all, I won't agree that your simplistic boxes exist without challenge. People, as I've illustrated by using myself as an example, are much to complex to be pigeon-holed as you do.

In regard to your question...I simply don't know. (I also don't think YOU have any way of knowing, either)

btw, I don't choose to vote for Trump "despite all the negative information about him". That implies that I ignore anything negative about him. I don't, just as I don't ignore anything negative about Hillary. What I do is consider all information...both negative and positive...about both candidates and make a value judgment. That value judgment is the basis of my voting decision.

Camp of irresponsibility, insincerity and lack of integrity.

Those with morals and values will vote Trump ! And those that are void will vote for the corrupt thief !

LOL!!

I don't see myself as irresponsible, insincere or lacking in integrity. Perhaps you can justify your contention?

So you are saying those other two categories
1- the basket of deplorable - racists, sexists, xenophobes, Muslim haters and anti government folks
2- single issue people like right to life and NRA gun lovers

a- do not exist
b - or are not still firmly in the Trump camp?

LOL

I don't think the rantings of liberal/socialist progressive ideologues can offer any rational definition for those they have been told to hate.

In a free country, voters are allowed to pick any number of reasons to favor one candidate over another.

Perhaps in the country the alt-left is desperate to create, a voter will have to pass some kind of test in order to vote, but currently, that is not required.

Do you deny that the two groups I identified exist and are firm Trump voters?

I would rather we have Trump who is going to try to make some needed changes, rather than Hillary who is just going to make Wall Street and the multinationals richer and stronger, and work toward her "privately" stated goal of open borders and unfettered world trade, and granting amnesty to 20 million new workers who need better jobs NOW. Preferably yours.

If you work for a living, this should concern you more than Trump's locker room wiretap ten years ago. Hillary is crooked now.

Hilary's term will be a complete nothing but investigation and fights over the FBI fix. There are a lot of loopholes congress can find in these immunity deals, and that is what life under a Clinton administration is about - one scandal after another, and her term will be exactly that, and probably end in Comey being forced out of the FBI. From there Comey's gag order can more easily be removed from the FBI agents involved in the Hillary probe and the Foundation probe. When that happens, agents will be allowed to be subpoenaed and divulge how the "Fix" forced them to violate fundamental rules of evidence.

With any luck, this will lead to Hillary's impeachment. This one will stick because by the time it happens the county's economic heath will be much worse than it is today.

Meanwhile, a Trump presidency could be working to get America off it's ass and producing jobs.

It's really a matter of what's important to you. Economic growth, or standing by your criminal

I think anyone following Hillary's deplorable meme is intellectually vacant and not worth much time to engage with.

Voters have the freedom to choose whomever they wish, for whatever reasons they wish, and should resoundingly reject the pathetic garbage from any political party that adopts personal insult and destruction as a operative move.

Trump is laughing at you.

Are you denying such people exist and are backing Trump?

Are you denying such people exist and are backing Trump?

I'm sure there are people who think that way, and support Trump. I'm also sure there are people who think that way and support Clinton, and any other candidate running for President.

Do you deny that?

wow. the arguments for supporting trump are so weak, its astonishing

Terrific. So that is one group identified and still supporting Trump.

As to your claim that some of the deplorable are supporting Clinton - do you have deny evidence of that to present?
