My fantasy is that the RNC continues to burn money propping him up. Not that they abandon him and re-direct resources down ballot, as they're doing now.

Thought about this a while and decided if this is the worst they can dig up on Trump then he still has my support.

MOST guys have made lewd comments about women IN PRIVATE. And most women have made lewd comments about men, IN PRIVATE.
This was never supposed to be made public.

In contrast, Hillary Clinton has actually done things that resulted in deaths of people under her watch. FAR more serious.

Nope...this won't be enough. We still need a NON Establishment President (if that's what he is)

How does one explain that hopes and fantasy don't dictate one's perception of objective reality?

you're absolutely right-I spent four years on two varsity college teams and then several more as a coach on a D-1 college varsity team. Its hilarious watching the fake outrage I am seeing from people who are just plain dishonest. Now I am sure there are some people-maybe women who were raised in isolated convents or a girl whose life story is best understood by watching the original version of the movie "Carrie" who actually shocked by what trump said. But the rest are just drama llamas who will use anything to attack the man because they don't like the thought of the democrats not keeping control of the spoils that comes from holding the WH

my favorite political commentator, the late great David Broder-a guy who really truly was a moderate-noted that after the soviet union failed and fell apart-the American left transferred the energy they had expended for several decades worshipping the soviet union to trying to "balkanize" America into warring tribes of special interests

I don't know either. That's why I thought, "Oh, I think it's too late to jump ship, going to be a number of republicans going down with Trump" was wishful thinking on the part of a Democrat. A lot of conseratives weren't voting for either Democrat running, Mr. Trump or Sen. Clinton, but they will vote for reasonably conservative candidates for the Senate and the House and for state and local offices.

For me, I figured we were screwed in the White House no matter which Democrat won but not as bad as we've been screwed for the last eight years.
