There are those who think Hillary Clinton is the white devil and anti-Christ. Ditto for Donald Trump.
Personally, I think Clinton is the far more dangerous candidate. She has a history of dubious dealings and people close to her dropping dead.

I'm not convinced we could count on Donald Trump being the hard core, racist person the left paints him to be.
While he does speak his mind, is indeed a bit brash and could definitely take lessons in Presidential etiquette, what is feeding the frenzy that says he is Hitler II ?

Unlike psychos like Hitler and Kim Jung Un, Mr. trump has been in the world making bilateral deals, running businesses, making a family and doing all the things many do daily.
He has for years been a likeable reality TV star and has been in the public spotlight for nearly a decade.

Only now that he is a serious contender for President and specifically objects to free for all immigration has the Left begun to paint him as the anti-Christ.

So, is there any real reason to fear this man or is it all just media sensationalism as usual and the establishment resisting his plans?

Donald Trump is not Adolf Hitler.

Besides, he's too big of a moron to be Hitler, who was actually quite intelligent and appealing to the German people. Trump is neither of those things.

Some say Donald Trump is evil, ...
Evil is subjective,
He is the Antichrist.

You can't be serious.

"He's not as bad as Hitler" is not a ringing endorsement.

Only now that he is a serious contender for President and specifically objects to free for all immigration has the Left begun to paint him as the anti-Christ.
The left has known for years that he'd be an awful President. It just didn't seem likely, until the Republican primary voters lost their damned minds.

So, is there any real reason to fear this man or is it all just media sensationalism as usual and the establishment resisting his plans?
Everyone exaggerates. Everyone.

Usually and somewhat surprisingly, candidates usually make substantial progress on 75% of what they promise during a campaign. However, Trump has been vague and/or changes his mind frequently, so pinning him down is tough.

So, with those caveats, realistically speaking, Trump would probably harm the US in several ways.

• "The Wall." This probably won't happen, at least nowhere near as big of an obstruction as Trump claims. This would be an expensive boondoggle that will not stop most unauthorized immigration. Why? In no small part because most of the new unauthorized immigrants are coming from Asia, not crossing the border. Kicking out current unauthorized immigrants would also do much more harm than good.

• While there are some checks and balances, a President can enact lots of policy before someone half-heartedly stops it. So, we would most likely end up torturing and vilifying Muslims, doubling down on Gitmo, and all sorts of other likely unconstitutional and unethical crap that harms a lot of people, further exacerbates problems in the Middle East and elsewhere, won't make us one iota safer from terrorism, and so forth.

• Like it or not, trade is actually beneficial for the US, and the steps he promises are either nonsensical (what parts of NAFTA need to be rewritten, and why would Mexico and Canada change the arrangement in ways that shafts them?) or have already been tried and shown to not work (we slap tariffs and accuse China of waging currency wars all the time; it doesn't work, and just gives them an excuse to retaliate). Trump seems to think he can scare our trading partners and thus boost growth, and that is sheer idiocy.

• Trump would basically slash taxes (mostly for the wealthy) and spend massive amounts, adding trillions to the deficit and debts. Even his own advisors accept analyses of the Trump tax program that suggest he could increase the debt by anywhere from $2.6 to $5.9 billion. (The lone economist on his econ panel deliberately takes the lowest number, and suggests that hole will be plugged by... reducing the trade deficit, despite endorsing policies that will cut US exports. But I digress.)

Some of his spending is in theory not that bad, like infrastructure spending; and the US can certainly handle bigger deficit spending. The problems are:

a) His tax policies undoubtedly favor the rich, especially those who use pass-through income like... Trump. I.e. it will send income inequality spinning out of control.
b) His policies do nothing to fix the looming issues of entitlement spending (Social Security, Medicare).

• Fiscal policy. Trump is an utter dunce in this department, who thinks the US can renegotiate its outstanding debt with no repercussions. Back in the real world, the US defaulting on its debts in any way would pretty much decimate the global economy, as institutional investors who regard US bonds as the single most secure investment in the world will lose their damned minds.

• Health care. He has literally no plan, except a vague promise to roll back Obamacare. Even if you hate the ACA, the reality is that millions of people are now covered that weren't before -- and killing the ACA will mean ending health care for millions of Americans. There is no way that is going to go over well.

• The reality is that we have no idea who Trump owes money to, who he's in bed with, who he owes favors. The idea that he will be pure as the driven snow is a fantasy. His administration would be tilted towards the super-wealthy, particularly the super-wealthy with the last names "Trump" and "Kushner."

• Even by the standards of modern politicians, the sheer volume of outright lies told by Trump is immense. This will have all sorts of effects, many of which will be diffuse and hard to track.

Bottom line: Trump is a con man. While it might not be a total disaster, it's hard to see how that's beneficial in any way.

"Some say Donald Trump is evil, racist and a dangerous man. He's not. Let's discuss"

That's a classic Barack Obama stawman. He has started many silly statements with "some say." Some say I'm a bolshevik. I have not heard anyone say, or read that anyone has said, Donald Trump is an evil, racist, and dangerous man. We can skip racists since the racist Democrats accuse everyone of being a racist. I do not think Donald Trump is an evil, dangerous man. I think he's a totally self-centered, totally dishonest, incredibly greedy individual who cares about nothing but himself. He's only "dangerous" because the suckers believe in him. He will be, if elected, as incompetent as Barack Obama and as honest as Sen. Clinton.

Ok, so then why all the fear ?

Very substantial post. Thanks.
It's too late tonight but I will read it tomorrow and think about it's merits.

I cannot disagree or agree. What about the "suckers" that believe in Hillary?
I do like some of the things Donald Trump "says" but I'm not convinced that he is not just another establishment hack.
The problem is, I cannot vote for Hillary because I know for a fact she is an establishment hack.

Sad the American voter is caught between a rock and a hard place.

Who said I was afraid of Trump? If anyone is terrifying in this election it's Hillary Clinton.

Re: Some say Donald Trump is evil, racist and a dangerous man. He's not. Let's disc

To those that have had the run of the nation's cheese supply for too many years, he is definitely a disturbing development in their future plans.

And?

iLOL Who? Obama or Trump?

Antichrist is a specific which can be argued, while evil is subjective (which I already pointed out).

Maybe this will help you.

[sarcasm] He is the antichrist I tell you.
