Considering how the Washington DC establishment including the bureaucracies, the news media, the law enforcement and other agencies, the legal profession and, I'd wager, the courts are all against Trump with the intensity of a thousand suns how in the world could he function as a President? If he'd be blocked at every turn? How could he get anything done?

I'm just asking.

He won't try to get anything done. Basking in the glory of the office is all he hopes to do.

An unmared aircraft with $400 million in unmarked cash might help that pen and phone just a bit. ;)

I've made a similar point in arguing why I support Trump over Hillary every time I hear opponents ranting against his somewhat radical positions (like a "real" wall).

So, this begs the question of who would you rather see elected?

Someone you believe can't get any "crazy train" programs done because of so much opposition from the establishment; or someone who is an insider and clearly has enough support from the power elites to get some, if not all of her Same Sh*t Different Day policies enacted? Including her promise to appoint gun-control and pro-SJW nightmare Justices to SCOTUS.

I believe he will have enough support in Congress to be able to appoint Libertarian type Justices to SCOTUS. That he will be reined in when it comes to anything else the general population might consider too radical in actual practice.

Better him than Hillary.

Honestly, I think Trump just signs whatever the Republicans put in front of him. Remember when Kasich's camp claimed Trump essentially offered him the presidency if he would go along as VP? I bet Pence got a similar deal. I think the presidency is more of an ego thing for Trump. Can you imagine the guy having to attend all of those meetings and have to read a bunch of crap? I don't see it.

I think Trump and the powers that be in Washington could come to an understanding of the new reality.
Trump would come with a broad but vague agenda, and soon meet the reality of what is possible
vs what is desirable.

Hopefully Trump gets to appoint a few SCOTUS judges that align more with his ideology than the ideology of a majority of the present ones.. Too bad SCOTUS doesn't leave political ideology aside and just interpret The Constitution. Who am I kidding, though? This sort of ideological SCOTUS interpretation began in the early 1800s when Jefferson's SCOTUS decried the separation of church and state interpretation of the religion portion of the first amendment.

I don't know how successful he would be, but he would still be a Repulocrat, so if the GOP could reign him in and get him to act in Party Interest, then he'd at least get their support and could just have the standard partisan thing as normal. But from what we've seen of him this election cycle, it doesn't seem very likely that he could be "reigned in" per say.

Agreed. Better him than Hillary.

He's made a career making deals. With the Democrats in congress definitely not wanting to cooperate with Trump, and at least 1/3 of the Republicans in congress nearly the same, Trump building a consensus with congress to get legislation passed is certainly going to be on ongoing challenge for him and his deal making abilities.

Part of Trump's experience in making deals is establishing a personal relationship with those he's trying to make a deal with. I believe that we'll do this, and that he'll 'wine and dine' them, as execs do when they want to make a deal. This something that Obama was never good at, or interested in doing.

A Trump presidency may yet be more productive than you'd think.

I think Trump and the powers that be in Washington could come to an understanding of the new reality.
Trump would come with a broad but vague agenda, and soon meet the reality of what is possible
vs what is desirable.

Trump's never dealt with people reluctant to make a deal with him? I don't believe that's true. Will he 'bump' into the DC reality? Sure. How he reacts to this 'bump' is the question, and would be a significant determinant as to how productive his presidency would be.

An unmared aircraft with $400 million in unmarked cash might help that pen and phone just a bit. ;)

I don't get what you mean.

Are you referring to the recent Iranian deal, are you saying he should bribe the courts, what pen, what phone?

He won't try to get anything done. Basking in the glory of the office is all he hopes to do.

Is this what he really wants?

What will he want out of necessity?

I could imagine a Trump that would put his legacy first but how will he not give into temptation when tested? What will he a lot for his gratification, what evil?

When his tax cut fails to produce jobs and he hands over a second economic crisis, then will we say abandon this philosophy?

What will we do then? Blame the next Democrat?

What will Donald Trump do? Go about wheeling and dealing for better America? What is a little Trade deals wheeling and dealing going to do for us?

The impossibility of Donald Trump then turns to his foreign policy.

Perhaps if you elected any Majorities for the Democrats you might have a nice time because then the Democrats would not pass any tax cuts and they know how to co-operate and Trumps wheeling and dealing could do us some good and Donald Trump could adapt but you would be safer with both houses, this is the most intelligent vote.

Mrs. Clinton with both Houses is best and much better, only good, otherwise you have to deal with obstructionism and you can reduce their tool to one, the filibuster, they can waste our time talking forever on bills they don't want, let them do this, they don't have an economic crisis to blame on Mrs. Clinton to win in 2018 you lemmings.

Trump with two Republicans is the impossibility, so vote Trump Democrat you lemmings Vote Hillary Clinton Democrat.

But people are opinionated, this is title of one of my next threads. Ambiguous click bate? It'll probably fit the newest threads.

They will think, " do I like this Candidate, when they are fed up with the system and then vote to beat somebody because this gives them the most gratification.

Fortunately most people vote intelligently, let us hope so.

They proved able to elect Democrat in 2006 but it was too late.

Let us not be too late this time.

Let Hillary Clinton get all the gratification until these Republicans abandon their economic philosophy.

Do you want Religious Conservatives on the Supreme Court? Do you want to be put in sack cloth and ashes? Well, we'll be put in sack cloth and ashes for electing Hillary Clinton the Question becomes how do you want to be put in sack cloth and ashes? Come on, It'll be fun and you don't have to go with a bunch of religious bigots and have people with a poor fund of knowledge who don't believe in science sitting on the Supreme Court instead of those who will protect our rights and rule rather than seeing everything in their terms of judgment and deity.

I am not sure that is correct, I am sure Trump has run into many people reluctant to make a deal with him.
Not everyone wants a Casino or Golf course in their back yard.

a bunch of religious bigots

Are you specifically referring to Christians or ALL religious peoples as "Religious Bigots" ?

Would you also call Muslims "religious bigots" ?
Seems to me society is more peaceful under the so called "religious Christian bigots" than it will be under the Left's progressive diversified society.

Truth be told and all PC nonsense aside, what this nation is facing is a rebellion against White Christian America in favor of a "culturally diverse", religion free society.
And truth be told, there are few good examples of prosperous, culturally diverse major powers that aren't facing horrendous internal problems.

That said, perhaps the world WILL be a better place when there are no races, no religions or cultures and societies are homogeneous.

However, human nature and history seems to dictate that such a Utopia can never exist for the human species.

I don't think Trump will be elected.

If he was, I doubt he would face as much opposition as the first black president has. And Donald hasn't demonstrated to me that he could actually work with a senate and congress, nor any comprehension of how they actually work. I cannot see him doing that. I can see him wanting to fire them all, as though they were on some sort of reality show.

He won't try to get anything done. Basking in the glory of the office is all he hopes to do.

So why the fear from you folks then?

You don't believe a word you've written.

Unlike Obama, this guy has got things done, and unlike Obama, has been successful.

Your fear is he will get elected, and he will get **** done... And he will.

I suppose it depends on which sort of Hell you prefer. The Hell of gender mixed bathrooms, legalized bestiality, Marijuana brownies for lunch at K-12 school, having your IRA confiscated by the government for the good of all, 10 year old kids being indoctrinated into LBGT by the public schools, white men being relegated to subhuman status, being accused of rape for looking at a woman, the quality of health care sinking below the level of the British NHS, the military industrial complex with a full out revolving door for bureaucrats with nothing actually being done in any of the trouble spots of the world, terrorism as a normal feature of everyday life, academe that can't turn out graduates educated in anything practical, unions sucking the blood out of consumers, and so on, or the Hell of $2000 iPhones, $70,000 Chevy Cruzes, triple the price at WalMart, depressed economy, a large number of bankruptcies, being randomly interrogated by immigration agents on the street, and so on.

I won't relish either Hell, but the second Hell seems more bearable.

Can you imagine the guy having to attend all of those meetings and have to read a bunch of crap?

Yeah, he's only been the president and CEO of a multi-billion dollar, multinational business for what?

Twenty plus years?

Probably hasn't read a thing or gone to a meeting in all that time.

I don't think Trump will be elected.

If he was, I doubt he would face as much opposition as the first black president has. And Donald hasn't demonstrated to me that he could actually work with a senate and congress, nor any comprehension of how they actually work. I cannot see him doing that. Right.

Again, multi-billion dollar, multinational corporation, and all that.

Though much of America seems to believe that reality TV is reality I'm sure Trump knows the different between the two.

How hasn't Obama been successful, gas prices are low, we're growing in spite of obstructionism and violence is about what you'd expect?

I'm just asking.

That's a whole pile of bad assumptions. Maybe you should provide us with some insight into why you think that these statements are true...

I prefer the Hell where Democrats in charge, ... too big an economic boom. Then we don't get brought to our knees and get put in sack cloth and ashes. If you like to put on sack cloth and ashes you may go do this and it is good to do this.

The Hell where we desecrate Mars and the Moon.

The Hell where we run out of resources, Phosphorus and Oil because we're fighting and being punished for being on Mars and don't get to the Asteroids for any or Jupiter's Moon which should be your focus although you'll probably go to Hell for being there too, but this is a Hell worth going to. If you have to choose a Hell, let it be this one, the one going to Jupiters moon, I tell you, it's a bonanza, there's a mint to be made. Petrol from Jupiter.

ROTFLOL...

Gas prices are down due to fracking... On private lands. Nothing to do with Obama. Keystone pipeline... Where's it at?

Growing? Yes... Unemployment has grown, and those people are off the employment lists, making it look like unemployment is lower than it really is. Just ask Hillary. Her leaked audio revealed the economy is crap.

Obama was a failed Community Organizer, and he's been a failed president.

Foreign policy... Domestic policy... FAIL.

ObamaKare... FAIL.

Shovel Ready Jobs... FAIL.

"Not the time for profits"... Accomplished.

Carter must be feeling good, as this clown is now the worst modern day President.

Syria is a mess... The Russians have schooled Obama, so he withdraws... And talks about Climate Change.

His Reign of Error is soon coming to an end.

Whether we get Obama with a Vagina and Testicles, or Trump... Only time will tell.

Trump... Will get s it done. Guaranteed. He's a doer, unlike Obama, who only knows how to blame people.

That's quite an entertaining ramble. Mixed gender bathrooms, bestiality....are those the sort of things libertarians agonize over?

My guess is that Trump would function for a while. Americans have historically fallen in behind leaders, even when crazy stuff is in evidence. Take a look at the Iraq or Vietnam Wars, the great depression, etc.

I doubt he would last four years though. My guess is it would be a wild ride for a year or two, with crashing stock markets, increasing unemployment, estrangement from allies, and then we would see some sort of low key coup d'etat, where he would be read the riot act by some general, and would then finish off as a figurehead, with some prominent general or other senior staff person doing the actual job. Of course, spin doctors would be working overtime to assure the masses everything was kosher and legal. And why would they not buy that line? If they had bought Trump, selling them should be no hard task.

I'm just asking.

How?

Because the establishment will learn to fear their employers, and the power they have taken back from them.

This is a very subjective and biased opinion, are you sure it is correct? That Obama was a failure?

Sometimes not getting anything more done is exactly what needs to be done.

The last 8 years gave us Obamacare, dubious non treaties, a doubling + of the debt, non war wars being fought in more countries than any time since WW II. A country divided worse than any time since the civil war.

The last 16 gave us a country overrun with illegals, a housing collapse largely brought on by government policy.

A Hillary presidency will give us more of the same.

So that leaves Trump. Probably not the best choice, but the only choice.

I am not sure that is correct, I am sure Trump has run into many people reluctant to make a deal with him.

Once more for comprehension.

. . . .
Trump's never dealt with people reluctant to make a deal with him? I don't believe that's true.
