CNBC: Trump's Campaign appears to be Slipping into a Death Spiral

Donald Trump's presidential campaign appears to be slipping into a death spiral and the Republican nominee is running out of chances to turn things around. In just the last week, Trump entered into a unwinnable war of words over the weight problems of a former Miss Universe including a bizarre 3:00 a.m. Tweet storm, claimed his opponent may be cheating on her husband, blamed a bad microphone and an unfair moderator for his disastrous debate performance and saw The New York Times reveal that he took a $916 million tax loss in 1995 and may have paid no income tax for nearly two decades.

On Monday morning, The Associated Press reported on Trump's alleged sexist and boorish behavior on the set of "The Apprentice" and the Center for Public Integrity alleged that Trump's real estate business rented office space to an Iranian bank that U.S. authorities say has links to terrorism. And Trump woke up Monday to fresh polling showing the debate tilted the race heavily back to Hillary Clinton. The latest Politico/Morning Consult poll shows the Democratic nominee surging to a 6-point lead after leading by just 1 ahead of the debate. And a new poll out of swing-state Virginia now shows Clinton up 7 in the state. ……………….

……………. And all the "Trump could turn this around" narratives rely on the idea that he is capable of becoming a totally different candidate. The Sunday debate in St. Louis is also a town hall format in which candidates must take questions from and interact with regular folks. Clinton is very practiced at this kind of thing while Trump is not

Does not look too promising for Trump………….

Of what we have seen of it is doubtful to impossible he can turn it around……….

He’s in his own alternate universe……….cannot see his error………….refuses to take advice ……. And says Let Trump be Trump………..

If he does not have a nervous breakdown first……….he is going to be a very unhappy loser crying fouls and the whole thing was rigged……..

And GOK what that will cause………

WE really………IMHO…….. Cannot endure another Bush v Gore

Does not look too promising for Trump………….Of what we have seen of it is doubtful to impossible he can turn it around

You just keep chanting that snuffy. After all, some dreams may come true. :tink:

Meanwhile...

People thought Trump was done over and over again during the Republican campaign. Then he won the nomination.

Then Hillary supporters swore he could never take the lead in polls. Then the polls showed different.

Then Hillary supporters said this won't last, wait till after the Democratic convention. When she pulled ahead after the convention, they crowed again "See, she is a shoe-in, he's toast!"

Then polls swung his way again, confusing the heck out of all those "He's toast" advocates. The cry became "Wait till after the first debate! He'll be toast again."

The polls did not initially show that, actually showing Trump had won or at least broke even. That is until the media pundits swung in her favor and kept touting her "debate win."

Still, he keeps getting massive crowds of peaceful, quiet, firm supporters at every rally he holds. While she still can't fill a medium sized Starbucks. But the "polls" must be right this time.

I'm still waiting for the fat lady to sing. :coffeepap:

I have to say…….

I agree with you…….

This election year is by far the one that has proven the “pro pols” and interested political to guess wrong at every turn……..
Someday the “fat Lady” will sing and we can stop worrying about making all those wrong predictions……:beam:

This is either a change election or it isn't. I'm betting that it is.

And Hillary is the same old Clinton sleaze mixed up with Obama's score settling. What could possibly go wrong?

And hasn't CNBC been pretty damn consistent about the Anti-Trump tirades?

The one constant about this election cycle is the way analysts and pundits in Washington have been 100% wrong about Trump.

I think this is just them doing yet another victory dance at the 50-yard line...

I'd have to agree.

This campaign cycle and the candidates have demonstrated time and again as to be nearly completely unpredictable.
I don't think we'll know for sure until all the ballots are counted.

Every time I hear or read a news person making such a prediction, it reminds me of this:

Yeah...but Trump is a far way off from Truman.

Still, the votes need to happen, and we can't say anything with 100% certainty till the system is measured. But I think a Trump victory is highly unlikely.
