Clinton Leads by 4 Nationally; Trump Hurt Himself in Debate

“ PPP's new national poll finds Hillary Clinton leading by 4 points both in the full field of candidates, and in a head to head match up with Donald Trump……..
……….. In the full field she gets 44% to 40% for Trump, 6% for Gary Johnson, 2% for Evan McMullin, and 1% for Jill Stein. She leads Trump 49/45 if voters had to choose just between the two of them. …….

……….Monday night's debate was a big success for Clinton. 54% of voters think she won it, to only 31% who think Trump won. Beyond that simple fact it opened up several issues that may persist for the rest of the campaign:
-The discussion about Trump's personal taxes in the debate has voters thinking several things that could prove very problematic for his ability to make a comeback in the final 40 days. Only 31% of voters think Trump pays his fair share of federal income taxes, to 52% who think he does not. 46% of voters nationally think that they personally pay more in federal income taxes than he does, to only 36% who think Trump pays more. ……………..

Let’s see if this is confirmed by the other soon to be released polls

If his refusal to release the tax returns hurts him more and more and he *still* release them...

That tells me there's something incriminating in there and that might be why he's audited (i don't believe him about he's audited every year either)

But you know national poll isn't what matters so much, just a handful of states

As far as this debate, not surprising, he did clearly lose. He could win against fellow crazed racists like in the republican primary, but that's more a reflection how low that party has sunk

I think it is more likely there is something embarrassing in there.

Something so embarrassing he would rather lose the election? Or something so embarrassing it would cost him even more than say 3% of the vote?

Trying to imagine what this could be that isn't criminal. Maybe contributions from Putin

Being less rich than he says he is.

Republicans are now all crazed racists huh? Sound funny coming from the party of Slavery that opposed civil rights and replaced the whips and chains with victimization and welfare.

no need to get defensive about 1860, and i'm not a democrat besides. I also said the republican *primary*, which is pretty much accurate. Even their non white candidate changed his name and tried to whitewash his face

i know anecdotal, but at my college the other day a bunch of totally racist posters were put up, warning white girls to not date black men ("he'll probably slit your throat" etc) and telling 'european americans' to stop forgetting their heritage. They also had the alt-right symbol. Know who they support? Yep, the republican party

They should have warned the girls they will knock them up then not pay child support.

That's basically a lead that's within the margin of error. And there were lots of loaded questions in there about Trump and zero about Hillary. But lets put the race into some context, shall we. You have one candidate supported by the establishment, the media, and the current president, who now has a debate win under her belt and who has spent $100 million in negative ads against a guy who constantly puts his foot in his mouth, doesn't have the support of much of his own party, doesn't put much effort into understanding policy, has virtually no surrogates or campaign organization, and has spent nothing on advertisement yet is still within the margin of error on a biased poll. What should be learned from this is just how horrible the democrat candidate is that a guy like Trump is still within striking distance.

A 4-point lead doesn't represent much "hurt".

i guess we'll see you at the next republican primary

It's the trends what counts...........

And being at striking distance still means "Sniffles" is a loser

I really think he hurt himself more post debate by continuing to allow the narrative to be about that dumb girl. I think thats what the poll numbers are reflecting more than his debate performance.
