The fact that virtually none of China's 1.3 billion citizens feels any need to protest against the government shows what a good job the people's government of China is doing in running a successful and prosperous nation.

The people of China absolutely have the right to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of protest. Article 35 of the Chinese constitution explicitly states that "Citizens of the People's Republic of China enjoy freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, of association, of procession and of demonstration." http://en.people.cn/constitution/constitution.html . If any Chinese citizens were angry at the government for any reason, they could organize a protest without any trouble. And yet, there are no rallies or protests whatsoever, except in SUPPORT of the people's government. Clearly, the CPC is doing something very right in the way it serves the citizens of China.

Compare this to the United States, where it is obvious that the capitalist, racist government has not done such a good job of taking care of the people. Look at the rallies against police brutality taking place all over the country: N.C. Gov. declares state of emergency following violent Charlotte protests . And look at the government's response. Do they promise to not shoot any more innocent people of color? NO! Instead, the government in america goes straight into sending the National Guard (part of the goddamn MILITARY) in to quash these peaceful protests against the racism and repression of the white dominated capitalist government.

The next time anybody says the U.S is a free and democratic country, tell them that that claim is utter BULL****. Show them how in China, the people have the absolute right to protest and rally to have their voices heard, but because of the Chinese Communist party's excellent governance, the people see no reason to protest whatsoever. Compare this to the USA, where people of color often feel under threat from racist, trigger happy white policemen, and whenever they try to make their voices heard, the military is immediately called in.

So what you're saying is Tiananmen Square never happened?

Good luck trying to sell that lie.

Tienanmen Square was a riot, sponsored and financially supported by the U.S government in order to stir up trouble. it was neither a peaceful protest, nor was it actually supported by the Chinese people. The people's government of China did all they could to end the riot with the minimum of bloodshed or violence, and there were plenty of warnings to leave the area for days before the actual arrests began. Maybe if the roiters didn't try to attack the police first, there wouldn't have been any casualties at all.

Oh bull****. You are clearly indoctrinated.

On one sentence you are calling Tienanmen Square a myth then follow that up by saying... "Oh wait it did happen but it was the US' fault." What a crock of crap you've been spoonfed. There was no "RIOT!" There were no fights or deaths until the chinese government rolled the tanks in on them.

Their are hundreds if not thousands of prit eats against the various governments levels in China every year.

Sometimes they work often they don't

For ones that work check the protests against a chemical plant in Dalian in Northern China.

Good thing the world is flat or those bodies would have fell off the Earth since China is on the bottom side of a globe.

That's untrue. It was instigated by the intelligence agencies of Paraguay and funded by the Trilateral Commission in order to open up China to exports of radioactive Paraguayan milk.

All available information leads to that inescapable conclusion.

Good thing only the police had guns. There's nothing worse in a Socialist or Communist country than people with rights.

Make up your mind... was Tienanmen Square a myth or was it a riot? You can't have it both ways.

The idea that there was a "massacre" is a myth

The actual events of Tienanmen Square were a riot funded and sponsored by the US government, which was dealt with by the authorities with a minimum of bloodshed and violence.

All those "Reeducation camps" are probably America's fault too I suppose.

After 25 Years, China Still Silent on Tiananmen Massacre

No one knows what happened to many of the thousands of protesters in Tiananmen Square during what the West still refers to as a massacre. The Chinese authorities have called events that day “much ado about nothing” and are still trying to sweep them under the carpet.

When PBS producer Antony Thomas showed the iconic Tank Man picture to a group of students at Beijing University on the 20th anniversary of the massacre, none of the students knew what the photo was.

“When I came back to the States [in 1989], I wrote to my best friend in China and I got a letter from her that said, ‘Please don’t write me. It’s too dangerous. I’ll write you when I can.’ And I never heard from her again,” Starbuck told us.

“It is pretty well known that every student that was involved with the protests was at one point rounded up and questioned and either jailed or sent to camps — labor camps or reeducation camps,” she said.

Really? Then why does China admit that they killed them?

So the whole thing was the US fault?

BTW... China has been trading its corrupt communism in for corrupt capitalism for some time over there. I think you guys have invented a whole other category. And it will all implode if it doesn't change. Blame the US all you want but your country's rise is on our backs.

Unhitch the price manipulating of your RMB from our Dollar and see what happens to your economy. One things for sure, you wouldn't be able to build fake islands in the south seas if the RMB and therefore China had to stand on its own strength.

Because it was to preserve the peace and order to prevent further bloodshed and to end the riot as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Further bloodshed? The students didn't do the bloodshed. That was your beloved government doing all the bloodshedding. The US may not be perfect but usually... the truth will out. I can't say the same thing for China.

this is one of the most ignorant threads ever to appear on this forum. did you think no one would google and find out there are about 500 demonstrations a day in china?

In China, you agree with the state, keep your mouth shut.....or.....

Really? You do know, I trust, that over 40,000,000 people were killed in Tienanmen Square? And that the Chinese gov't admitted to this.

Why does this thread look familiar, sounds just like someone else that used to be here, hmmmm, thought they got banned, seems like someone has pulled a fast one on DP. Oh well, I am sure the clock is already ticking down on this reincarnation.
