Obama: Americans will have to give up freedoms and submit to world government.

Yeah, the Pilgrim's tried this as well, it lasted all of one winter. Small sample I know, but can you point me to a place where United Federation of Planets is actually working? A place where you take an aptitude test at a very young age and the results determine your entire future role in society. Say that role is roofing, or construction. You grow up and become a construction worker, paid what the world order says you're to be paid, live where they tell you to live, and breed as many times as they permit you to. All the while, Suzy the obnoxious girl that sat next to you in class took the aptitude test and she got to be a bureaucrat, working in government, getting to decide what everyone else gets to do, and how much, and yet, she, as a matter of privilege gets to live in the swanky side of town, take leave to have a large family, essentially the rules don't apply to her. How long do you suppose that will work? How's it working in the EU right now? ;)

Tim-

This is so bizarre. It's like someone built a zig-zagging road that loops back on itself 5 times, using 18 miles worth of materials and labor to build a half-mile stretch of highway over flat ground and that only provides an offramp at the point where construction began.

You're dealing with the willfully paranoid here. It's the same mentality that squawked about death squads, guns being taken away, and the Stalinist implementation of oppression that the Obama Presidency was going to bring via Jade Helm and closed Walmarts functioning as operating bases for the takeover.

None of it happened; was never going to happen, yet they go on undeterred.

This whole freak out about the UN is nothing new. It's the macro version of their paranoia. Reality goes on every single day without the loss of a single freedom yet somehow we're constantly on the verge of an Orwellian collapse into tyranny. It must be exhausting. It would hilarious were it not for the frightening irony that they're going to vote for a person who has threatened to silence our free press through the implementation of laws because certain reporters and outlets have said things about him he doesn't like. They're going to vote for a person who said there needs to be punishment for protesters. This grip of irrational fear has them seeking an authoritarian who has said he's the only one that can save them.

I didn’t see the type of fear mongering you're writing about in this thread. What’s not new and no surprise to me is that Obama would make such a statement. In my opinion he has always favored a more European EU governing type body. Also, your suggestion that we as Americans and those in Europe haven’t lost liberties is kind of silly for me. Lets keep in mind that the Obama administration has whole agencies writing regulations that do chip away at our freedoms and rights. This same over regulation was a major factor with the Britexit vote in the UK to leave the EU.

As for the UN, It would be hard to argue that it hasn’t become a farce and sham over the decades considering the monies poured into it. The greed and corruption within the UN is completely upside-down with any societal good that body achieves. This is why the UN should never be allowed to get It’s greedy paws on important climate matters. We also should shut the doors at the location in the US and treat it like the Olympics, ever fours year a host country can bid to have a gathering. Hell, we could even have the (IOC) “International Olympic committee" put the event together, they are only slightly less corrupt and twisted than the UN.

In his final address to the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday, Barack Obama said that nations like the United States will have to give up some of their autonomous freedoms and submit to world government in order to achieve security:

The world Obama wants - America to be nothing - our people to be nothing / Payback for those countries he and his father think have been wronged by America. I've said it and I continue to say it - "Dreams of my Father" are the dreams of Barack Obama. People who live with their eyes close will one day realize what this man is really about. We (all of us) are or have been so fooled by his charm and his ability to speak - but we will pay the price. I've said, I was fooled and voted for him in 2008. Chose to stay home in 2012 because I was conflicted. Never again.

If we want to survive, we will have to help organize a global security system that the rest of the world accepts and thinks will protect them too.

It's called the UN - and if we want to survive, we should take everything Obama has done and un-do it and we should take everything he has ever said and do the opposite. That is how we move past the place we are in.

Which Americans? I suggest Obama go first. He can lead by example. If he doesn't get any followers, he might want to reassess the situation.

The UN is not yet adequate to the job in many ways. But it is true that Obama has done damage.

The fact that the UN engages in global governance or what Obama calls "international rules" is enough reason to kill it off.

Greetings, Henrin. :2wave:

Hey, what's the problem with scrapping our Constitution and Bill of Rights that has made us the envy of the world, right? It's very important that the world elite keep their exalted positions - the H*** with the rest of humanity, right?! Think of how much fun life will become for us, right? WRONG! :bs:

Obama is a globalist. It isn't some sinister conspiracy, just a realistic point of view that nationalism has become obsolete and regressive.

Obsolete and regressive, Really? I guess it’s just me that see’s a pull back from the EU or a central governing type body. I certainly hope that the US embraces our nationalism in a positive way and becomes a model for other countries. Obamas globalist stance is not a conspiracy as you point out nor a surprise to me but certainly isn’t realistic for the US.

As a Libertarian, Don’t you seek a world of liberty? A world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others. Even our very flawed system that needs a whole lot of work comes closer to truer liberty than any other country.

The battle or fight is against the globalization of our republic not the complete surrender to the very thing this country was built on. I find it so very odd that someone tagging themselves as a libertarian thinks Obamas stance makes complete sense and is realistic.

Even if you are right that it not an argument that Obama is wrong here.

Have you anything in that department?

It is ALWAYS wrong to give up rights and freedoms. If that is what we have to do to join this global government then we must fight against it.

Name one freedom you've lost in the last 8 years.

Just one.

It has to be a real freedom.

Not being given the freedom to own antitank weapons doesn't count.

Gun control, Patriot act, ACA start there.

Systems need to be properly scaled, and when so many of our problems are global governance needs to be global as well. It will either be chaos created by ineffective management of global warming( which does NOT necessarily doing as we are now doing, trying to stop change, that is super expensive and unlikely to work because we dont understand the problem), or ten million people killed by terrorists using nukes that drives the conversion. But Obama is right, it will happen, because it has to happen.

And that sums up the intellectual level at which the average American conservative voter functions. If the intellectual capacity of the average Limbaugh/Hannity fan could be analogized to a life form, it would be roughly equivalent to a gila monster.

I do. Which is why I am not afraid of globalism. At one point in history I am sure people felt the same way about nation states as you feel about globalism, but just because each state in our union has less sovereignty as a result of being part of a nation does not mean we enjoy less freedom as individuals. Globalism will happen with or without the US and I would prefer our culture influence the end result. It is predictable that there will be resistance just as there was when it came to forming this nation.

Gun control, Patriot act, ACA start there.

1. Who's taken away your guns?

2. Please explain how Obama created the Patriot Act

3. How have others gaining access to healthcare diminished a single freedom of yours?

My initial question was a very simple one. For example, "I used to have the freedom to drive my car from state to state without having to show ID papers at each border but now I have to get permission and papers before I travel state to state " would constitute the loss of a guaranteed freedom.

So come on. To win the game all you have to do is name one right/freedom you've lost since Obama became President.

It is ALWAYS wrong to give up rights and freedoms. If that is what we have to do to join this global government then we must fight against it.

Well then each state in our nation should have ceceded long ago and the US Republic should never have been formed. I'm fact, no form of government should exist and anarchy is the only acceptable condition.

At this point it is the new Manifest Destiny.

Freedom can be traded for something of greater value. Dont be confused by the fact the moronic moderns have so often traded freedom for promises of safety which turn out to not happen. The promise was always clearly bogus, we have been dealing with swindlers, we have been chumps. Over and OVER again. But there can be honest brokers who can take our trade of some part of our freedom and return to us something better, maybe survival.

At this point it is the new Manifest Destiny.

At this point it is common sense. If ideas and reality are ever in conflict it is the idea that needs to go, it is the ideology that has to either die or get reformed into something that more correctly evaluates reality.

It is time for a return of the wise men. We have had too much cheap emotionalism, we have had to much idiocy driven by ignorance and bad morality, dressed up as "expertise" by the ones who got the "right" punches in their tickets.

And look where that got us?

Humanity is a mess.

I just find it hilarious. Anyone who thinks globalism is a bad idea and that nationalism is the way to go only needs to look at the continent of Africa. The US, EU, and China are practically raping that region because each African nation is nationalistic and can't unite into a single African Union. As a result if we want raw resources from one nation and they try to say no, we can go to their neighbor. To add insult to injury we can then export the materials we built with cheap African raw materials back to Africa and get a healthy profit while also stunting their ability to develop an infrastructure to manufacture their own raw goods. We keep Africa poor because of our unity and their nationalism.
