Feel free to share your own encounters with Trump supporters in real life:

My boss is a big-time Trump supporter. He's a good guy, college educated, computer administrator, family man, blue collar etc... but apparently he just hates, yes hates immigrants and is very pessimistic about life in general, so I am not too surprised he likes Trump. However, he really tries and fails hard to get me on board. I will list a few points we have discussed over the course of the past year and keep in mind, this is the general stuff. I haven't even talked to him too much about this.

  1. He doesn't know how involved Trump's children are in his campaign
  2. He is concerned about how Trump will pay for the border wall, but still has hope he will find out some way to do it.
  3. He believes that Trump will stop immigration, period. No ifs, ands, or buts, about it.
  4. He doesn't care about ANY of Trump's money issues.
  5. He considers all Trump scandals as cherry-picking him to make him look bad
  6. He thinks the media is out to get Trump and considers all his controversies media bias.
  7. He thinks anybody who questions Trump is a Hillary supporter (including me!)

So now I will explain how I figured out how much of a Trumpkin my boss actually is.
Upon cheering that he decides the Bush family is finished in politics, he says down with them all. I snarkily reply, "Oh yeah and replace it with the Trump dynasty? How is that better?" He said, "I don't know about all that but..." Then I mention that his kids basically run his campaign.

He thinks the wall will stop immigration. I say that it probably won't and it probably won't get passed congress and even if it does, how will we pay for it? He says he didn't know and was worried about that as well, but that Trump will find a way to balance it out. At least he doesn't really believe Mexico will pay for the wall, but he DOES believe that Mexico is where all the immigrants come from.

I mention to my boss that Trump is perhaps more corrupt than Hillary because he has gotten in trouble all by himself, while Hillary is a puppet that just does what people tell her to do. He says how can you say that? As it came out today that Trump used his fake charity to pay off some business loans, I point this out and he just tells me, "oh you are nickel and dimeing that."

He actually goes on websites and points to them to me and says, "look, this is a bad article, this is a bad article, and oh yeah this is a really bad article." They shouldn't be so mean to Trump!

When he knows he is losing an argument he just goes straight to the talking points. "Well Trump will make immigration stronger. Hillary will let them all in. You want that?" This after countless times of me saying they are BOTH horrible candidates!

We also talk about how well Jeb Bush would have done against Clinton. I think Jeb has the slight edge, but that all depends on if Trump wins or loses. If Trump loses Jeb could have definitely done better than Clinton, if Trump Wins, then the Alt-Right, was right all along. huh?

Find a new job, my friend.

My parents are pretty staunch Trump supporters. Although my mom was a Ted Cruz supporter before he dropped out out the race, while my dad's been a Trump supporter the entire time.

In short, we've had some pretty heated conversations.

what he said. The year end review will not go well..............

You kidding? We are as laid back as you get. No year end reviews here and...people leave and come back all the time. It's very weird.

Well that's not surprising considering your location. Are they the same as my boss is? Better worse? I wouldn't have minded, Jeb or Kasich, but Ted Cruz would have been an interesting four years. A Trump White House would be even more interesting but no way will I vote for him.

My second aunt is a big Trump supporter. Had a short discussion with her yesterday and it went like this:

ME: I dislike Clinton and her policies as much as anyone else. With that said, one cannot complain about her lies, corruption, and crookedness and be FOR Trump without looking hypocritical.

HER: I'm OK with hypocritical. I've been called worse.

ME: Oh, please tell me you don't like that womanizing buffoon

HER: I'm a Republican. I have to vote the party.

ME: I would say the Republican Party has been hijacked by a narcissistic loon. Voting him in would only further destroy the GOP. That's just my 2 cents.

HER: I disagree. I think he is the best thing since Reagan.

ME: I have known narcissists personally. They are awful human beings. Incapable of love or compassion.

HER: I hear ya dude. But I cannot vote for a Democrat.

ME: Well, Clinton has IL locked up so best to keep a clearer conscience and go third party

HER: That's a vote for Clinton. I can't do that.

Love her, but some of my family just make me go :doh

Sounds like the conversation I have with my mom, except she threatens no more family dinners for the person who votes Clinton.

Pretty similar. They definitely share the most similarities with #'s 4, 5, and 6. Although they don't think I'm a Hillary supporter for challenging Trump, as I already explicitly told them I'm not.

But my dad is pretty much the ultimate Trump shill. I think my mom supports Trump because she just really hates Hillary.

Yeah, had some heated debates with my parents/family, too.

In the very beginning, my dad was a Cruz supporter. He stopped liking Cruz before he dropped out. I forgot exactly what the kicker was, but part of it was his wife's Goldmann-Sachs connections. He is now voting for Trump. He admits Trump is not his ideal choice but keeps yapping about control over the Supreme Court.

My mom, she doesn't like Trump. She is probably voting Libertarian, although she isn't a big fan of Gary Johnson, either. She said she would rather see Trump win over Clinton. I tell her whatever complaints she has about Clinton and her character they are ten times worse with Trump. She never really has an answer to that. But she lives in an echo chamber so can't really expect her to fall too far from the Right.

My middle brother is a big Trump supporter. Loves to tout his hatred for Clinton and love for Trump on FB, but refuses to ever have an intellectual debate, especially ever since our Drug War debate 10 years ago.

My youngest brother dislikes Trump but despises Clinton. He said he is writing in Rand Paul on election day.

My extended family... ugh.

My parents haven't gone that far, yet. But during the more intense debates my dad gets real red in the face and begins shouting about illegals, and Muslims, and gays, and blah blah. I try yelling over him but it is no good. Sometimes best to smile.

I have to agree with her. Refusing Trump is one thing; endorsing Clinton with your vote is quite another.

I would have to call that one a coin toss. Trump is no worse than Clinton.
