Devastating blow to Snowden supporters as America rejects biopic

in the legal definition of Treason, yea he is guilty - but no one in their right mind should consider him treasonous.

Its like the Father who comes home and catches a man brutally raping his 10 yo. daughter and kills the man. Yea, he killed the guy but no one would consider him a murderer.

Snowden let alot of our secrets out the bag, some would say rightfully so that we shouldnt be doing some of this anyway - but instead of holding our government accountable too many have chosen to follow the governments own narrative that Snowden is bad and he did wrong and he needs to be punished.

Only one willfully blind to Snowdens actions, could make such a preposterous defense of him as you are.

There would be no impetus for making any changes were it not for Snowden. No one would know the extent of governmental criminal activities.

"He walked a little old lady across the street! Who cares about that fire, this little old lady is safe!!!"

Had he not fled to Russia and simply stood by his convictions, it would have been very hard to convince a jury that what he did was treasonous. After all, this nation is very tolerant of civil disobedience. He could have argued that he followed his conscience. The end result would have been a deal of some sort or a conviction on some lesser charge.

It's not like Snowden would have been tried in a military court like Bradley Manning had been. Snowden would have faced 12 peers. A good lawyer would have painted him as the second coming of MLK.

You think he would have gotten any sort of fair trial...when the government is trying you for crimes against the government...oh wait a minute...you believe he would have made it to court? He would have committed suicide shortly after arrest.

Who would Snowden have turned the evidence over to in the US? The government would have seized all the info immediately under national security concerns...no one would have ever seen anything.

Like I said, too many people have fallen into the governments own narrative that Snowden is bad for what he did...kind of the same mantra we are hearing now from the same government with Wiki-leaks and the DNC e-mails - Were not wrong for rigging primary elections, selling cushy jobs to the highest bidder, paying people off for their support and endorsements, using ethnic slurs to describe minorities... they are wrong for telling everyone about it and must be punished for it.

only one so willingly blind to the governments hideous behavior and actions could make such a preposterous prosecution of him as you are.

You support his exposing the US means and methods of National Security to our enemies? Which had nothing to do with the issue you are all "Oh snowden, I want to have your babies!" over.

Snowden went way beyond a "whistleblower" to complain about NSA's domestic surveillance practices.
If he had stopped there maybe you could call him a whistleblower but he went way past that mark.
He betrayed many programs that NSA used to protect our nation that had nothing to do with our
privacy or American citizens.

He made a very bad choice and deserves to spent time in jail.

Who would he have given the evidence over to in the US? As soon as he did, the government would have confiscated it under national security concerns and no one would have ever seen anything.

those means and methods have been changed - if something had happened between the release of the info and the changing and the changing of the methods, we might be having a different conversation. no harm no foul

That would only be, because people were not paying attention or worried about the right things. Or, pray say, was there anything that surprised you other that that so obvious stuff was not being followed up ?
