So, Trump finally conceded he's been lying about Obama's birthplace for the past 8 years and then immediately lies that it was Clinton's claim in 2008. The man's compulsion to lie is cosmologically immense. He can simply not stop himself from doing it. At the same time there are his supporters out there watching him pretty much run for cover on every BS thing he's been saying for the past 18 mo. His handlers can maybe, maybe, try to put lipstick on this pig of candidate but they can't stop that pig from his overpowering need to lie every time he opens his snout.

How is this an issue still? Obama is at the end of his presidency, this was brought up during the campaign and nothing ever came of it. It's over now, less one of them has a TARDIS.

It's to distract from DNCleaks part 2.
It's not an issue anymore.

Why don't they highlight the fact that the birther stuff came from Team Hillary 2008?
That at least one journalist was told this by Sid Blumenthal?

This is a general trend in our election cycle. Deflect, distract, present only fluff. It's not unique to this election, but this election we have two empty, corporate suits and thus it's even more obvious. But it's getting annoying.

Platform, ideology, history of job, facts. We don't need these idiotic deflections.

I don't know if the MSM is beholden to Team Hillary or if it's just playing to the bias of urban viewers.
I do know that I don't trust any of them to be Watergate type investigators though.

It's like they all morphed into Gawker clickbait authors.

Actually he said Hillary and/or her campaign, didn't he?

Regarding the birth of the birther movement ...

If you haven’t been trolling the fever swamps of online conspiracy sites or opening those emails from Uncle Larry, you may well wonder: Where did this idea come from? Who started it? And is there a grain of truth there?

The answer lies in Democratic, not Republican politics, and in the bitter, exhausting spring of 2008. At the time, the Democratic presidential primary was slipping away from Hillary Clinton and some of her most passionate supporters grasped for something, anything that would deal a final reversal to Barack Obama.
The theory’s proponents are a mix of hucksters and earnest conspiracy theorists, including prominently a lawyer who previously devoted himself to ‘proving’ that the Sept. 11 attacks were an inside job. Its believers are primarily people predisposed to dislike Obama. That willingness to believe the worst about officials of the opposite party is a common feature of presidential rumor-mongering: In 2006, an Ohio University/Scripps Howard poll found that slightly more than half of Democrats said they suspected the Bush Administration of complicity in the Sept. 11 attacks.

So I guess it all depends on how closely her "most passionate supporters" were to her formal campaign structure.
During her 2008 campaign, was she on record denouncing the whole birther thing?
I don't remember one way or the other.

All I could find was the Politico piece I just posted.
Do you have a link that connected Sid to it?

I don't remember one way or the other.

I believe she was for it before she was against it. She evolved to a higher state of enlightenment once the primary votes were counted and the SoS job was on the table. It's one of those things in which the candidate herself usually says nothing, but encourages all the little people to push so she herself doesn't get dirty.

He's trying to lie his way to the WH. His steeples do not care about it.

That theory first emerged in the spring of 2008, as Clinton supporters circulated an anonymous email questioning Obama’s citizenship.

I'm sure the Trumpeteers are proud to be following in Hillary's footsteps. You should probably tell them that.

I was thinking along the same lines.
"No, I never told anyone to delete my emails after they were subpoenaed. I was as shocked as anyone."

Fact is, neither candidate is innocent of this.
One started it and the other repeated it.

So why are they focusing on one and not both.
Not to mention that the ****ing 2nd set of DNC leaks happened 2 days ago.

My God, there's even but...but...but Hillary excuses about Trumps BS from back in 2012. lol

The Birther BS is all on Trump. He ran around the country screaming about it all over the media.. He was going to spend millions proving Obama was a Muslim Kenyan. He's the 1 who was going to send a team to Hawaii to prove the certificate was phony.

It's on him. Period!

So you're one of Clinton's most ardent supporters then?

No. That is where the birther crap started. Hillary was losing and, as we know, she will lie about anything. Also the whole thing has nothing to do with the election.

Given Sid is close enough to Hillary to have fed her foreign policy advice during her SofS years, I'd say it's easily possible that he could be called one of her "most passionate supporters" back in 2008.
Boy, I bet Hillary was fit to be tied that her good friend Sid would try to float such a suggestion.

Made in America? @BarackObama called his ‘birthplace’ Hawaii “here in Asia.” http://bit.ly/uKMWii

Let’s take a closer look at that birth certificate. @BarackObama was described in 2003 as being “born in Kenya.” http://bit.ly/Klc9Uu

Why does HI Revised Statute 338-17.8 allow an HI resident who doesn’t have to be US citizen to procure an official Hawaii birth certificate?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 18, 2012

Read this—@BarackObama‘s birth certificate “cannot survive judicial scrutiny” because of “phantom numbers” http://bit.ly/MV9anM

@jonkarl interviews me on This Week during which time he stated that he was “pretty sure” President Obama was born in the U.S. Bad question!

Attention all hackers: You are hacking everything else so please hack Obama’s college records (destroyed?) and check “place of birth”

“@futureicon: @pinksugar61 Obama also fabricated his own birth certificate after being pressured to produce one by @realDonaldTrump“

If Hillary wants to bring up subjects like that again she needs to be prepared.
Especially with that guy.
He's not a typical opponent she would normally face.

I wonder how much he billed his campaign for this hotel promo, I mean campaign event.

It's an issue because it's not a good idea for someone who's going to have his finger on the nuclear trigger to be someone who believes an easily-disproven conspiracy theory.

What's more, Trump is an anti-vaxxer - yet another easily disproven conspiracy theory.
