Elementary School Teachers to Wear BLM Shirts to Class

I'm gonna get a t-shirt that says "F**k White People." Same thing, no?

Ironic that the same school teachers who wear BLM shirts are the same teachers that fail to teach inner-city kids, so that those kids grow up to be street trash thugs who end up incarcerated.

To be fair, it's not an elementary school teacher's fault if an inner city kid winds up a thug. There is only so much a teacher can do or teach, especially when outside factors are much more influential.

Ironically, the best thing that could ever happen to the black community would be a complete ban on all rap and hip hop.

They should be teaching the kids to "Just say no" to the Thug culture, instead of blaming whitey for the consequences of their own actions.

But yo, I wants to be like Lil Wayne and s**t, yo. He be like RICH n's**t, yo. He gots that Boost commercial where he be throwin' Champagne on phones and s**t. Stayin' in school and gettin' a job be all "sellin' out" and s**t.

Here's a hint kiddo's, "particularly why people of color have higher incarceration rates and lower college graduation rates" It has nothing to do with systemic oppression.

Wearing a BLM t-shirt is a teachers 1st Amendment right, but putting the school's name on the t-shirt crosses the line. I would also like to see someone stepping up and making sure that this doesn't turn into a "blame whitey" correlation equals causation type of "discussion" and instead sticks with the facts. Facts like young black men having the highest percentage of criminal convictions of any racial/gender group. Facts like even when you compare communities with similar economic demographics, with one being mostly white and the other being mostly black, the black community will almost always have a higher rate of criminal conviction. Facts like pointing out that poor urban black culture glorifies violence and criminal activity.

Not necessarily but only if you believe all rap and hip hop promotes thug culture, which it doesn't.

Maybe. But when there's no daddy, and Momma's out boostin' for money to pay for her iPhone, nails and weaves, the teacher kind of becomes the surrogate parent. Otherwise, the only parental figures these kids have are their fellow gangbangers.

That's a pretty broad stereotype for inner city kids and their parents.

It would also make some of the radio stations more palatable.

No, but the vast majority of it is.

Show me one rap video that DOESN'T include one of the following:
Guns
Women dressed as hoes
Black men dressed in gangsta attire
Black men dressed in gangsta attire throwing money in the air
Any of George Carlin's seven deadly words

Gone are the days of rap artists with positive messages like Public Enemy or Grandmaster Flash. Where are the rap songs that tell kids to stay in school? Where are the rap songs that tell young women to keep their freakin' legs closed until they finis...err...where are the rap songs that tell kids to go to (and finish) college?

That's a pretty broad stereotype for inner city kids and their parents.

Yes it is. I am well aware that there are diamonds in the pile of crap. Unfortunately, the percentages of diamonds to crap needs to be reversed.

Hm.

(clicks through calculator)

Hm. Hey, I'm getting a weird result where 120% of 4 months is nowhere close to 15 years. Am I doing this math wrong?

You don't solve problems or build support for solving them by hyperbolically exaggerating them.

That is an average.. I was thinking of a specific case where two college kids raped unconcious women. THe white got got out of prison in 3 months, the black guy got 15 years.

Same crime, different time.

Well then please explain why when you have a black person and white person that have committed the same crime, both with the same amount of convictions (or lack of convictions) the black person typically receives a more harsh sentence?

Are you prepared to prove this?

No that is not the same thing.

BLM is an anti-police group, so you shirt should say F**k Cops.

I don't think that a public school should be allowed to preach political opinions any more than religious ones.

Especially political opinions as radical as the ones that belong to BLM.

What is funny is most rappers borrow all that bling and the record company pays all those bitches to twerk on their videos.

For the most part it is the source of Thug culture, but no not ALL of anything is ever true, there were many very nice people that were Nazis in WWII so does that mean the Holocaust never happened?

Actually, yes it does. Quite often, you will have two people , both first time offenders, one white, one black, with the same exact charges, and the white person will get probatio, or just 3 or 4 monts, and the black person will get jail time, and instead of 3 or 4 months, get 15 years.

On average, jail time for blacks for the same crime, same circumstances is 20% Wide Racial Divide in Sentencing - WSJ

Sorry that's behind a paywall and is 3 years old....

opens up the door for a kkk shirt

I think we should leave politically divisive issues out of elementary schools.
These kids aren't old enough to weigh evidence and logically think about these things.

Yep. All of this.
