Nonsense. A special prosecutor was appointed and spent many millions trying to find some criminality on the part of Reagan and his then VP George Bush the first. Numerous people associated with the Reagan administration were indicted, convicted, and many went to jail--compare that to now where the guilty just retire on a lucrative government retirment and nothing is ever done to them. The only reason Oliver North did not go to jail was because Congress gave him immunity to get his testimony--the Democrats did charge and convict him anyway of one count of changing the date on a receipt but the judge assigned him a fine and community service. (A subsequent judge threw that sentence out on the basis that North had immunity.) But ultimately the prosecutor's report was that Reagan and Bush did break the law in one respect, but not a law that carried any penalty.

I do wish we were as diligent now to catch and deal with wrong doers in government now as we were then. But the permanent political class wasn't as entrenched then as it is now and did not have as much control over everything as it does now.

The article is silly in the extreme. First no one is putting Clinton through this. She wants the job. She's putting herself through it. Second anyone driven enough to want to be President is hardly going to walk away because they have commonplace medical conditions.

Why not the same concern about the Donald. He's older and admittedly looks to be in good shape but looks can be deceiving.

Good we talked about it. I won't vote for an alzheimer diagnosed candidate. And I will support transparency of medical data for all public officials beyond a medium level.

That is one reason Johnson's proposal to tax sales and not wages is probably a good one. This would be especially true, if the problems of not having stashed enough away are hammered home enough.

I dont know what her schedule looks like but I do know that in the society conversation Chelsea Clinton is about as irrelevant as I am.

Maybe she is trying to help mom, maybe not, but how would we ever know?
