BREAKING: Democrats May Hold Emergency Meeting to Consider Replacing Hillary Clinton

Re: BREAKING: Democrats May Hold Emergency Meeting to Consider Replacing Hillary Clin

I have always liked Joe. He seemed a straight shooter as a Senator from Delaware. Sure he has gaffs, he says what he thinks. Sometimes in a not so nice manner, but a thousand times nicer than Trump. I would vote for him over Trump. Also all the other you mentioned. My first choice in this election cycle was Jim Webb. But he didn't even bother to campaign. Just having his name in the ring seemed enough for him. I doubt he was really serious. That's a shame as I think he would have made an excellent president.

Then I switched to Kasich. I like governors who have had to work with state legislatures, legislatures akin to congress. Gary Johnson the former governor of New Mexico also has that experience. That's one of the reasons I am going with him. Also he has the fiscal responsibility that I look for and is a social liberal more like myself in many aspects.

If Kasich was the GOP nominee, the race would be very close to over already. The only reason Clinton is still in it is because Trump is just so awful.

You got that exactly right. Until this year there never has been a presidential candidate with an approval or favorable rating of below 46%. That record low was set by G.H.W. Bush back in 1992. Trump at 34% smashes that record, Clinton too at 38%. Just some numbers from your friendly numbers guy.

If Kasich were the GOP nominee, he would be getting the same treatment from the left...including the media...that Trump is getting. That is, he wouldn't be able to utter a word without it being spun, lied about and hyperbolized. Fact is, that's the only thing Hillary has in her tactics chest. She won't discuss actual issues or policies with Kasich...just like she won't with Trump.

The only difference is that Kasich wouldn't have the broad support Trump is getting.

John Kasich has way too much class and far too many functioning brain cells to find himself in that position. The press is quoting the words, lies and untruths of the fraud named Donald Trump. Everyone knows Kasich isn't a low class liberal pretending to be a Republican. So uh, no.

I'm surprised that Trump and Clinton are even that high. There's absolutely nothing to like or respect about either one of them.

The liberal media could...and would...make god, himself, out to be the devil with their spin, lies and hyperbole if he deigned to speak.

Kasich MUST speak if he's a candidate.

Kasich isn't the candidate, sadly. The candidate is a low class, ignorant, unqualified liberal real estate developer. If the candidate was Kasich, the race would be all but over.

You are actually correct.

If Kasich were the GOP candidate, Hillary would be locked in as our next President. The would be no race left to run.

Trump may not be a perfect candidate, but he's not a milquetoast candidate, either. He's a fighter and that's what the non-elite GOP needs. Not some mild-mannered guy who would have run a worse campaign than Romney.

No, what I said was that if Kasich were the nominee, Hillary would already be finished. Trump is a disaster. Smart people wanted a Republican for the party nominee, not a liberal fraud.

Oh, I understood what you said. I just don't agree with you.

Heck, Kasich couldn't even win against Cruz...the second most hated candidate in the GOP primary. There's no way he could succeed against Hillary and her media.

There is a limit to how low a candidate, president, elected office holder, what have you. You will always have your very loyal party members who will back, like, approve of, defend and protect, back to the hilt even if the candidate in question was Hitler, Genghis Khan, Charles Manson, etc. That lower limit is around 30%.

History shows that even Nixon on the day he resigned in August of 1974 had an overall approval rating of 24% and a 50% approval rating among Republicans only. Both Trump's and Clinton's overall approval ratings are raised by their party loyalist. Looking at only independents, Independents give Clinton a 30% favorable rating, Trump 28%.

Its like I said, no one likes these two candidates, no one wants either of these two candidates to be our next president outside of their avid supporters. This information is in the Gallup article below.

This was interesting:

The notable exception to her subgroup stability is her favorable rating among blacks, which, at 63%, is seven points below where it stood in the first half of July. It is also her lowest weekly favorable rating among blacks this year, after occasionally dipping to as low as 65%.

That's a pretty big drop. I wonder what they attribute it to?

Probably because of what the DNC said about the BLM Movement.

I don't know. It was blacks who overwhelming voted for her in the Democratic primaries that gave her the nomination. Sanders actually won the white Democratic vote by the slimmest of margins 49.1 to 48.9. Blacks went to Hillary 75.9 to 23.1.

How Hillary Clinton Won the Democratic Nomination Over Bernie Sanders - WSJ.com

There is a lot of good information in the link above which breaks down the Democratic primary vote.

Clinton won the Democratic vote, Sanders the independent vote. Independents could only vote in the states that had open primaries. So if all states had open primaries, perhaps Sanders would have won. Sanders easily won the young vote whereas Clinton took the old fart vote. Have a look, there is more.
