How was "Our Freedom" defended (after 9/11)?

In solemn memory of the devastation of the 9/11 attacks, of 15 years ago, I thought it proper to start a thread on its effects on the world, society, and especially "Our Freedom".

Immediately after the 911 attacks, President GW Bush said that "our freedom" had been attacked and that "our freedom" would be defended.

In order to defend our freedom he then took it away and locked it up tight (The Patriot Act).

Freedom is not like gold. You can't protect it in a vault.

I agree.

9/11 seems to have been an excuse to take away American freedoms (and attack any country America wishes) by Neocons/cowards almost as much as anything else.

I despise the Patriot Act...and I guarantee you most of the Founding Fathers would as well were they alive today.

Whelp, we have yet to descend into a totalitarian dictatorship, so it certainly can't be as bad as your suggesting.

The founding fathers would also despise, income tax, SS, Medicare, the Fed, the highway system, ect. What's your point?

Freedom is not binary, on or off. It is analog, falling somewhere on a range. Now, I do not know about you, but I have not had my freedom reduced in any way since 9/11. Much like Bush saying freedom had been attacked, saying freedom had been taken away is senseless hyperbole.

What have democrats done to reverse it?

Nope, but in order to reach your destination, one just has to start with a footstep. Democrats are taking that footstep.

And let me guess--- only the orange egomaniac can save us

Nope. At least he's stupid. Hillary is not. That's why she's dangerous. Her scheming ass already has us projected down the path of totalitarianism.

Your freedom has been radically reduced by the Patriot Act. You are just not informed enough to realize it.

What am I unable to do now that I could do pre-9/11?

Democrats hate freedom. They hate everything about it. They want the ability to force others to do as they desire. That is not freedom.

1. The liberty to not be spied upon
2. The liberty to not be harassed by law enforcement
3. The freedom of movement and travel without being treated like a criminal
4. Freedom of Speech
5. The freedom to know what the government does
6. The right to a fair trial
7. The liberty of owning your body
8. Economic liberty

Ok, so you believe in the make **** up style of debate.

I see you describe yourself as "very liberal" so I will not waste time trying to educate someone who is self admittedly delusional.
Just keep believing the government is going to tax the rich and give you what you cannot earn for yourself. Let me know how that works for you..... And don't worry about lost freedoms, you would not know what to do with freedom if you had it....

Man you keep digging yourself in deeper...

Hint: you reveal a hilarious failure to know anything about my political beliefs.

Basically. His arguments mainly consist of blatant strawmans of people's postions.

Even worse, he's condesending as hell.

It is weird how often people think based on my lean that I, some one who has repeatedly said raising taxes is a bad idea, am for raising taxes. Being liberal does not mean favoring raising or lowering taxes.

When people like j-dog just make up your postions for you, that doesn't really matter any more, now does it?

Nuance is not in these's people's vocabulary.

Neither me nor anyone I know has been adversely effected by new security measures other than at the airport. We're obviously doing something right.

And the Obama admin expanded it beyond anything Bush could have ever dreamed. Oh, and it also pass with bipartisan support. Your weak partisan swipe falls a little flat of reality.

Being inconvenienced is not having your rights taken away anyway.

I am neither Dem nor Rep...I don't give a **** about either party.

Try assuming less.
