As if we needed any more proof that the greatest threat to our freedom is neither from the outside nor from muslims. It is and always has been from the hate faction in this country which, in turn, has been fueled from the pulpits of pseudo-christian zealots and psychopaths.

It's telling that this crap from Trump follows closely on his appearance on a Russian TV network where he now seems to be campaigning and did what would have killed on the spot any democrat's chances if he or she had done such a despicable thing. Trump's love for the Russian autocrat and his repressive ways is no accident. Putin represents the same resurgence of undemocratic rule backed by a corrupt religious fanaticism that plagued Old Russia.
 
It'll get him those people's votes. That's all he cares about.

The greatest threat is from outside the US, if we don't elect persons that can understand it and get it under effective control. That Trump is the one for that job, is nearly inconceivable. That it might be Clinton is also hard to believe considering her husband's record or her stint as SoS. At least she has experience, but she has never indicated any deeper understanding of history, political science or the structure of international affairs. But maybe she can find her Kissinger or Baker. Let's hope so, because we will really need good strategic minds and hands on people to meet the rising challenges.

The blood on that man's hands and the stains it left on this country's so-called respect for human rights internationally is as indelible as our still-present sin of racism at home.

No, it's not code for anything. It's saying that people that want the government involved in all aspects of life even down to people accepting others are the biggest threat to freedom the world has to offer.

One of the most sickening of the fervently held myths that rightwingers tell themselves is that they're for limited government when what they're really for is getting government out of their way for persecuting people they don't like.
