When is it OK to blame government for your own failure as a human being?

I would probably vote for Johnson if Hillary wasn't in the race. I could not live with myself if I let her win. I usually don't like to vote for either of the 2 corrupt parties. But Trump is like a third party. He is not owned by the rich and powerful and anyone but Hillary except maybe another Bush. I am sick of Bill and George H W walking arm and arm laughing at us.

They are voting for a president that will help industries in this country. If Trump wins they will be back to work. If Hillary wins they have to hope for the coal barons to return and bribe her I mean fund her campaign.


Coal can be a viable fuel and used efficiently. We need to develop many sources of energy that are viable for the different parts of the country.

Out of curiosity (and a fair amount of procrastination because I don't feel like crunching Data for my Data Processing class right now) . . . I looked into it.

Using the Poverty stats for 2014 provided by our government (here)

And by gathering the election-by-state results (here) from the years 2014, 1992 - 1932 (on a 20 year interval to see an array over the last century), and going back to 1920 because it's the furthest back my visual reference source logged . . . the results are:

I'm sure in some ways the horse was a little better than the car. It's easier to replace, for one. A person only needs two horses to get a third, fourth, fifth, etc, instead of a whole factory of men to make just one. Would you have argued for horses over cars?

It would be nice if it was a matter of cost. Unfortunately we have a government that subsidizes things for campaign contributions or to appear politically correct. Solar plants are built that go bankrupt because the industry was not what was needed at that time and place. In an area such as West Virginia where there is almost an unlimited supply of coal it makes sense to use that readily available and plentiful fuel for electricity. In Arizona where the sun shines most every day and there is no coal solar makes more sense. In a lot of areas multiple forms of energy can be available and should be used.

and is being used. Natural gas is also plentiful and is cheaper to use than coal. Should the government, then, subsidize coal in order to keep jobs in the little towns in West Virginia?

Maybe you're a coal miner. It isn't like you can go find a coal mine to work at anywhere you want.

Coal used to be used for everything from heating homes to providing electrical power for entire cities. Those days are over. We found cleaner, cheaper and safer sources of energy.

What if you're a maker of eight track tapes? Do you stubbornly remain a maker of eight track tapes, or do you move on as economic forces dictate?

The fact of the matter is, we don't use as much coal as we used to use. That's good for most of us, but bad for the coal miners. If you're a coal miner, it's time to look for a new line of work.

Why someone would be a coal miner today is beyond my sense of understanding. I guess, if someone wants black lung and an early death, it might be an ideal career. For the rest of us not so much.

It's no surprise to me that someone young who fails at coal mining would turn into a heroin junkie. The two are not that far apart when it comes to a total lack of concern for personal health, self-respect and imagination.

Nylon fiber
Fertilizer
Iron and steel

All these are products created from coal. As far as "cleaner and cheaper," ask yourself how much a regular internal-combustion engine car is vs. an electric car. Do YOU have solar panels on your house? I'll bet you don't, and I'll also bet it's because you can't afford it. Your answer was a strawman.

This is a retarded analogy. It's apples to Buicks. Cassettes replaced eight-track tapes, and they were replaced due to size and quality of sound. Not because they were "cleaner" or "cheaper." I remember 8-tracks, and they cost just as much as cassettes or vinyl albums.

We were. The problem is their is a loose cannon who refuses to be a puppet called Trump. He will take their money but he won't play and this has created a real problem for the rich and powerful. Plus the fact their bought and paid for puppet Hillary is possibly not going to get elected despite all their efforts and media support. Too much criminal activity to cover up.

Plus have you seen some of the facial expressions caught on camera. She would make a better clown than president if it is not a mental disorder. I think she is coming undone. Keeping track of all the lies and deception may be too much even for one of the greatest deceivers of all time.

A candidate promising to return us to coal based economy is a complete idiot...as is anyone who thinks this is a good idea. We need to move ahead not backwards.
