Cal State Offers Segergated Housing to Black Students

Because this time around it's something that some blacks want.

Should they have the right to exclude other races? Seems to me this is racial segregation straight up, and illegal.

Cal State LA offers segregated housing for black students - The College Fix

The "demands" don't really connect with the actual housing.

"The newly debuted Halisi Scholars Black Living-Learning Community “focuses on academic excellence and learning experiences that are inclusive and non-discriminatory,” Cal State LA spokesman Robert Lopez told The College Fix via email.

The public university has 192 furnished apartments in a residential complex on campus, and the Halisi community will be located there, Lopez said, adding it joins other themed living-learning communities already housed there."

IOW: they added a housing complex with "black" in the name that is open to all students. Congratulations on getting duped by an article that focused on some hysterical demands rather than the facts.

They call it the Halisi Scholars Black Living-Learning Community, and then claim that it's non-discriminatory? Are you kidding? Don't you know Orwellian double speak when you see it? Talk about getting duped.

"Under the new program called Halisi Scholars, the campus set aside about 20 spots in its 192-unit dorm complex for black students and anyone who shares similar concerns.

Communications major Aaron Rodgers is a participant. He insisted that everyone is welcome.

“We don’t want to come off as we are separating ourselves,” Rodgers said. “If you want to live in the black dorms, you shouldn’t have that fixed mindset … “Oh, I just want to live the black dorms because I’m black.’ In this whole building, there are other races,” Rodgers explained.

...

Asked if he was worried about the perception of segregation. Thomas said: “At the end of the day, they need to be here in order to see that it’s really not.”"

Cal State LA Under Scrutiny For Offering Segregated Housing For Black Students « CBS Los Angeles

It's just an area that celebrates blacks. There's nothing exclusionary about it.
