Want to sign up for Trump's online volunteer program?[W136]

If you do, you have to sign this NDA first.

After that, you're good to go. Except you have now waived your right to ever say anything bad about Donald Trump, his company, his products, offshoots of his company, nor any of his family -- even his extended family -- for the rest of your life.

"To sign up on Trump's website, potential volunteers must agree to a 2,271-word non-disclosure agreement in which they also promise they won't compete against or say anything bad about Trump, his company, his family members or products – now and forever.

The agreement is a required part of the sign-up process for Trump Red Dialer, an online call system that connects volunteers for the Republican presidential candidate with potential voters.

Earlier this year, volunteers for Trump in New York had to sign non-disclosure agreements in person before making phone calls at Trump Tower. But the website requirement is the first indication that online volunteers must also sign the form, even if they'll never meet a Trump family member, attend a Trump rally, meet a campaign staffer in person or step inside a Trump campaign office."

Wanna volunteer your time to Dial for Don from home? Well, get on that horn, Trumpsters. Just know you must never again speak ill of Dear Leader or anything / one Trump.

Under penalty of litigation

Till the day you die.

If Trump loses, do we get Kool-aide?

I'm pretty sure it isn't.

My guess is they took a boilerplate NDA for Trump contractors and/or employees, and for some idiotic reason, used it for that site.

I can't imagine this would really be enforceable. It's not like they even know who you really are.

The employee part was discussed a few months ago.
Donald Trump Requires Non-Disclosure Agreements for Campaign Employees

Yes, but what about surrogates? This could explain the brainwashing from people like Newt Gingrich and Chris Christie and Paul Ryan. The people on TV are even worse. It's the only explanation I can think of. They may have gotten a different NDA or a more thorough package that their lawyers warned them about. Though the speaker isn't really endorsing him anymore at the moment he just did it for show.

The document was provided to The AP by a former Trump employee, who did so on the condition that the AP would not identify this person by name or make public the multipage document. Campaign staff to Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, also had to sign nondisclosure forms, according to a campaign aide. The Clinton campaign would not release a copy of the form when asked by the AP.
For many Trump employees, keeping quiet is legally required

Corey Lewandowski is actually coherent but everyone else is absolutely atrocious and make no sense when arguing with actual thinking people.

Lewandowski was coherent because he was in harmony with the ethos of Trump's campaign. It was spontaneous for him to stay on message during the primaries. His successors, however, found themselves in the unenviable position of continuing to appease the crazies of the right and attempting to pivot and appeal to independents and the mainstream at the same time. And that, my friend, is no easy feat.

Employees having to sign non-disclosures is nothing new.

What the Donald includes is a deep and torrid lifelong Non Disparagement agreement like no other.

Thanks for the link. It reminds us how The Don would handle being in public office. He said he would require federal official would be required to sign NDA's.

"It's unclear how Trump would balance confidentiality agreements with federal laws, such as the Freedom of Information Act, that require the preservation and public release of government information, including email communications, schedules and other information about high-level employees. The Presidential Records Act also makes private White House communications, including emails, publicly available within 12 years of a president leaving office.

Trump's campaign would not make the candidate available for an interview to expand on his comments.

The real estate mogul did acknowledge to the Post that "it's a different thing" to require federal government employees to sign nondisclosure forms. Still, he touted the success he has had using the tactic with his employees, saying the agreements are "so airtight" that "I've never had a problem" with unauthorized disclosures."

Tell us about how online volunteers who are given a bunch a numbers to call from their home, should have to waive their right to say anything bad for the rest of their life about anything with the name *Trump* on it is "completely normal" for a campaign.

Go head. Try.

How? How can I dumb this down enough for the challenged to understand.

Before proprietary information, (that means special stuff) is given to people, they sign this thing (it's call a non-disclosure agreement, or N.D.A.) that describes how much they are allowed to talk about stuff they learn and says they can't use the special stuff in any way other than what is allowed.

I realize that is still WAAAAYYYY over the head of some people.

It is probably true that people with little life experience can't understand such a thing, but an NDA is one of the more common things for employees.

Now that is about the best I can do. Some will remain defiant and ignorant, which is their challenge to overcome (that means to get over).

Only suckers work. We get our Obama Bucks and smoke weed all day. You?

LOL.

They hadn't created Obama bucks when I was still immature, and weed was still illegal. So, I had little choice but to actually get a life.

You should have boarded the train. Not only is there Obama Bucks to be gotten, but there is also now Obamacare to help get some really good "medicinal" Obama Weed.

Is that right? Dang. I guess I'll have to live with the yoke of controlling my own destiny, rather than becoming satisfied with the life others will decide for me.

Good morning, ocean515. :2wave:

It's 56 degrees - *shivering!* Heading down to a farmer's market in Amish country in a few minutes to buy bushels of veggies for processing today and tomorrow. At least the kitchen won't be too hot to work in as I finally cross that chore off my to-do list! Keep laughing, and have a great day!

Good morning Polgara!

Have a great day! My mind went to the beautiful countryside you'll be travelling through. You keep laughing too! Drive safe!

Oh you've dumbed it down alright. It's at your level that you're not even understanding what is being discussed.

Non disclosures about company secrets are standard. Derp.

We're talking about a contract to not saying anything bad about Trump, any member of his family, any businesses the Trump owns or familt members own, any Trump product of any Trump business or that of his family or extended family - -- and here's a kicker, if you are an employer, you have to prevent any employees from saying anything bad about anyone in that list of people, products and thing.

And that agreement to not disparage anything Trump is binding till the day you die.

And might I remind you, this discussion at hand is about an unpaid VOLUNTEER, not even an employee. One who may never even step foot into a campaign office or even see a single campaign worker.

Dumb that....up/

It's basically a Trump pre-nup, without any payout, and the threat of litigation by Trump hanging over your head for the rest of your livelong days.

Just for wanting to make volunteer calls, on your own time, from your home to drum up support for Dear Leader.

I already place the contract in the OP but here it is again -- as it appears on Trump's website NDA first.

Here's a snap:

As predicted: "Some will remain defiant and ignorant, which is their challenge to overcome (that means to get over)."

For the simple minded, here is an example of this part of a standard NDA.

Sample Confidentiality Agreement (NDA) | Nolo.com

4. Time Periods. The nondisclosure provisions of this Agreement shall survive the termination of this Agreement and Receiving Party's duty to hold Confidential Information in confidence shall remain in effect until the Confidential Information no longer qualifies as a trade secret or until Disclosing Party sends Receiving Party written notice releasing Receiving Party from this Agreement, whichever occurs first.

Now, again for the simple minded, or perhaps those will little life experience, the last sentence means the Disclosing Party may never release the Receiving Party from the provisions of the Agreement.

Standard stuff apparently impossible for the challenged to comprehend.

OTOH, some can sign such an agreement, violate it with impunity, and then claim memory loss due to a cracked noggin, and get away with it. Works for some, even at the highest levels in government.

That's where the weed comes in It lets create your own reality quite easily. I suspect most Trumpsters smoke a 1/4 ounce a day. That or someone is putting THC in their coffee.

Dude, I've owned my own business for three decades. Stop talking down to me as if if you think your **** is so hot.

It's not.

We don't need a ****ing "sample" -- You can actually look at the ONE I PROVIDED from Trump himself.

It's not standard. And in no place in that stupid here ya go you provided does it say you can never say a disparaging word about any member of the person you're volunteering for family,

extended family, any businesses or spin off that person owns, or other family members own, any product of any business or that of the family or extended family - -- and if said volunteer is an employer, you have an obligation to prevent any of your employees from saying anything disparaging about anyone or anything in that incredibly broad list of people, products and things.

With the agreement to not disparage anything Trump is binding till the day you die.

You seem to be having a hard time with certain D words.

Only your soul and possibly your first born

Nonsense. Money is not just the most important thing for Donald Trump. It's the only thing. If he can plunder widows, orphans, disabled vets, he's good to go.

Here's another part. If, I as a business person, with employees, want to volunteer to make phone calls for Trump, I am required to prevent any of my employees from working for, assisting or volunteering - for any other presidential candidate.

"No Competitive Services. Until the Non-Compete Cutoff Date [Note: this is defined elsewhere in the Agreement as “the date the current U.S presidential election cycle is over or, if earlier, the date Mr. Trump announces that he will not run** or will no longer run for the Presidency of the United States of America in the current U.S. presidential election cycle“] you promise and agree not to assist or counsel, directly or indirectly, for compensation or as a volunteer, any person that is a candidate or exploring candidacy for President of the United States other than Mr. Trump and to prevent your employees from doing so."

It seems that non-disclosure agreement's don't really work that well.

January 2009, Hillary Clinton signed a Non-Disclosure agreement, where she agreed to protect highly classified information and a failure to do so could result in criminal prosecution.
We all know how that worked out. Top Secret/Code word material was exposed to uncleared people. And she is off Scott free!

The Clinton campaign uses Non-Disclosure agreement's and so does the Trump campaign. If you are there to truly work for the candidate there won't be any problems. If you are there to spy on or just create problems the NDA can be used as a tool against people who purposely join a campaign for unethically/criminal reasons. The only people concerned about this are people who hate that Trump is running for president!

I think that claim was born in the reality you've created. At least your confirming why so many Hillary supporters are devoid of the recognition of actual reality. It's all the ganja they are toking.
