Kaepernick says he’ll give $1 million to charity

I support his right to do what he did. However, it's a real disgrace considering that in no other country on this planet could he go and make the obscene amount of money he's making to play football. He needs to show some respect and gratitude to be given that kind of opportunity.

America has given all blacks opportunity!

Where would he be if he was in Africa?

Where would Oprah be if in Africa ?

Where would Sharpton be if in Africa ?

Ohh yeah

He is still talking about a future event to keep his name in the news.

We will see if it still happens.

Yes, he did what he did to keep his name in the news!

Become hated for attention.

I'd agree with that.

He did say Hillary belongs in jail. If he wants to help the Black community he needs to support charter schools that Democrats and the teachers union will never give them.

Charter Schools aren't the answer to education problems in the US.

In many states that lack proper regulation they're a ****ing disaster.

They are a start. Teachers are lazy divas now. Competition always improves production.

I've seen that Michael Jordan has matched and beaten Colin Kaepernick by saying he is donating $1 million to those working on the interests of minorities but also $1 million to police associations working to promote police/community cooperation in fighting crime in minority areas.

If you want to preach equality and cooperation, seems to me it's more appropriate to support both sides in the argument and to bring them together for change - change does not come by demonizing one side while ignoring the faults of the other side.

Well done Michael Jordan - class act and smart man on the court and apparently in life too.

Kaepernick is sadly trying to cover his own foolishness. He bought into a bunch of rhetoric spewed to him by his new girlfriend, then when called on it has publicly said that everyone got him all wrong and that he really loves his country and his freedoms and those that protect it. Hell...his amended position MAY actually be viable. Unfortunately...it's an amended position. It's spin to find a tolerable interpretation of what he initially said.

On the other hand...we can all be grateful to him. His initial comments have encouraged a lot of scum to expose themselves for who they really are and what they really think about this country, the military, etc.

Why should someone love this country when they are dying on the streets or getting shot by racists cop?

You need to understand the majority of people in this country are oppressed somehow - Racially, sexually, financially, by religion, gender, status, etc...

Make up your ****ing mind why don't you. How many people **** themselves when Trump talked about how tough Black Americans had it? How many mindless liberals couldn't WAIT to point out how many blacks in America are successful and thriving? You can't get out of your own way.

Kaepernick is one of those that are thriving and anyone that claims that even a majority of law enforcement agencies and cops are racist and bigoted are themselves demonstrating bigotry. And yeah...I can tell...there's a WHILE LOT of oppressed 'victims' out there.

How many teachers have died from IEDs?

I'm sure some have. It is not why I care about them though, but go ahead and idolize soldiers. I stand with teachers and paramedics....

You don't have pick one or the other. I'm just pointing out why people would look on them differently. One group gets separated from their families and lives in poor conditions and lose body parts, lives, or watch it happen to their buddies and the other group doesn't.

While teaching is an important job, it's not really comparable.

correct the two occupations I cited (presuming competency) are much more important

No theyre not. Soldiers that protect your liberty, are what makes every other occupation possible

Not mine I have two other passports. Also US soldiers have protected liberty in a long long, long, time - not since the cold war at least and they haven't actually prosecuted and won a war since WW2

Ever hear of the Gulf War?

Korea was a win. It wasn't a satisfying win, but it was a win.

US soldiers have continued protecting liberty to this day.

Your passports wouldn't be worth **** if a truly tolitarian regime had taken over.

1) not a win
2) definitely not a win got our ass kicked big time - called a truce and licked our wounds
3) not so much
4) US not in danger of being taken over by a totalitarian regime - EVER. Stop watching Red Dawn it is not a documentary.

PS my passports will allow me to live very well in Ireland and Europe.

The Gulf War was definitely a win. Saddam's military was given a broken nose and Kuwait was liberated. Mission accomplished.

We pushed the enemy all the way to the Yalu. That's not "getting our asses kicked" especially when they started the war with the intuitive.

Yes, so much.

Wishful thinking lacks analysis. The US could easily have become a tolitarian state, especially if we'd lost the Cold War.

Yeah--- you'd live well if the tolitarian government let you leave, which is a big if.

we told Hussein we'd look the other way when he invaded Kuwait. We left him in place to kill hundreds of thousands of his countrymen who's relatives are all big fans of Iran now. We had to reinvade and spend a couple of trillion to get him out which led to ISIS. So big loss.

paramedics and teachers are so much more important to our country especially now.

Guess what bud? Not going into Iraq was the right decision. You can't be against both going into Iraq and not going into Iraq at the same time.

We never told Hussein "go ahead and invade". He misinterpreted, to his mistake.

It's a free country, but most people don't agree with you, and for good reason.
