Surprise: Gun ownership rises to 44% of all homes

How do you view KKKers exercising their free speech rights?

You're comparing nearly half the country to the KKK? Just, wow! I guess you answered my question.

First rule of gun club is don't talk about gun club.

I understood your point just fine. Just pointing out a fact about the ideology you embrace.

What you "pointed out" had exactly jack and **** to do with my ideology. Do try and fail less.

No, I am highlighting the stupidity of your comment. Nice try, but major fail.

Why would anyone say they have a gun? That's just dumb when you live in a country filled with people looking to have the government take them from you.

Do you support assisted suicide?

Of the terminally ill only. Suicides of healthy people is a public health problem and guns in the home are a huge part of it. Most suicidal thoughts pass within minutes but it is too late for gun owners.

“But when we compared people in gun-owning households to people not in gun-owning households, there was no difference in terms of rates of mental illness or in terms of the proportion saying that they had seriously considered suicide,” Barber says. “Actually, among gun owners, a smaller proportion say that they had attempted suicide. So it’s not that gun owners are more suicidal. It’s that they’re more likely to die in the event that they become suicidal, because they are using a gun.

44% of American households own half the guns on the planet. Impressive. What ARE they afraid of?

There are many reasons for owning guns that have nothing to do with self defense.

Gun ownership increases the likelihood of suicide. It is pure and simple and cut and dry. In fact suicide is the #1 "use" of a gun in the home. You are far more likely for you or a family member to die by suicide than to prevent a crime with a gun in your home.

I just stared at my Ruger SP101 .357 Magnum for a couple minutes.............

Nope..........didn't feel like committing suicide.

And your non truth about most people getting hurt by defending themselves with a firearm is complete anti gun trash.

The source for that is a fraud. Its an annual poll designed to help the gun grabbing movement. They dont count gun owners from the year before and they take advantage of people not wanting to admit to some stranger over the phone that they are gun owners.

What are those cowardly gun owners scared of?? Sheesh what will it take a bazooka?

Gun ownership causes people to commit murder? Really?

The word "murder" does not appear in the post you quoted nor the linked page.

Why would they count gun owners from the year before? That's not how polls work.

That is a surprise. While the amount of guns circulating has gone up house hold ownership had been properly declining. A long way to go to zero but we will get there....

only when firearms become as obsolete for home defense as longbows

True, no political movement in the USA is more dishonest than the bannerrhoid movement

Yeup, typical gun thread, maybe they should all be just melded together.

So you are saying alot of people live in fear and have small penises, and are easily swayed by NRA propaganda.

Where I live there have been multiple home invasions over the course of the last few months that have ended poorly. I see nothing wrong with one wanting to protect his family from such vial creatures. So yes, a lot of people do live in fear depending on where you live. You should also stop associating the NRA with every gun owner when only 4-5 million gun owners are members. That barely scratches the surface. Sounds like left wing media propaganda.

Who says we're afraid? We have the guns. You have squat.

And here's something else you need to add to understand, since you're from England, whose rear ends we kicked during the American Revolution.

Funny how badly the English want us to be subjects like them instead of citizens with rights.

Join a militia, then you can be legal, organised, and fearful.

I'm legal where I'm at, and I live in an open carry state. Can't do that in England, can you? LOL! As one individuals said once to a Marxist: 'Puppets don't talk back to their masters.'

Says the fearful brit that lives under the skirt of the nanny state. If your country was any more pathetic you'd all be reduced to using plastic silverware. :lamo
