What Will You Do After Hillary is Elected?

If Sen. Clinton wins the election I'll probably sit here wishing I could still get drunk.

If Mr. Trump wins the election I'll probably sit here wishing I could still get drunk.

With two Democrats to pick from, both crooks, both liars, I'm figuring we're screwed regardless. At least, neither is the kind of virulent racist we have now.

I guess they were waiting to see who the Democrats put up first, and followed suit.

Nah, the radical right has been after the Republican party since the days of Mccarthey and they got in like the bot flies they are. They've wrecked the party and consevatism and that's really too bad. Things have definitely began to swing in other direction and that's what got Hillary in.

Close. The socialists have been infesting the government since the days of President Franklin Roosevelt. They control the administration regardless of which party is in the White House. So, we get a President smirking and saying there isn't a smidgen of corruption in the IRS. That's what has gotten Sen. Clinton in.

There used to be some fiscally responsible Democrats but no more.

I'm going to do what I've always done since Carter, which is work my ass off building my company up,become even richer, and enjoy spending time with my grandchildren.
Whoever is President has never affected me.

So, it will be some sort of miracle if Hillary Clinton is not elected president and this question is really for her political rivals: What do you plan to do when she gets elected? How are you going to handle it, and what do you see yourself doing to improve your position in the hope of getting your candidate elected next time?
I'm gonna grab my copy of the Constitution and cling to it as I self-immolate. My housemate is fleeing to Somalia since it's a libertarian paradise. My other housemate is renouncing her citizenship and officially joining a cult to Shub-Niggurath in Bolivia.

Well I see it this way. The radical left - liberal/socialist progressives - have taken over the Democratic Party, and have truly stunk up the place.

I try to remember the collective insanity that allowed the Progressives of the day to bring about Prohibition, via a Constitutional Amendment no less, and the pendulum swing that returned the country to sanity.

It would seem this is the period we are in. People have been trained to ignore Kennedy's famous words, and ask what the country will do for them.

Like Prohibition, I have faith that kind of insanity will swing back to reality once it has run it's predictable course.

I won't vote for Johnson but for all practical purposes there isn't a good vote to be made. My focus will be on down ticket elections, in particular, I'll be looking at local elections.

That is my focus too. I don't give a hoot whether it is Trump or Clinton that ends up in the White House. That onus will be on those who vote for either one of them. I would rather have someone else as would the majority of Americans. But it is what it is. I won't help either.

Johnson gives me someone to vote for president while voting against both Trump and Clinton. The name really isn't all that important. If not Johnson, then Stein or this Castle character. If it were just Trump and Clinton on my ballot, I would write neither, no vote.

I wonder how the election officials seeing neither no vote would count it?

They won't.

Choosing not to choose is not a choice.

No biggie, as long as they don't count it for either Trump or Clinton. How about none of the above? I guess since Johnson is on the Georgia ballot, I'll just stick with him. Whoever gave us these idiots to choose from ought to be shot, hung, or sent to an insane asylum.

The primary voters cast their vote.

I don't think choosing a candidate is considered an act of treason.

I don't see much changing if Hillary is elected. She is to the right of Obama so if we survived his term, we will survive hers. She is more interested in her own legacy and enrichment than she is in ideological purity. What I will do for sure is hit the mute button whenever she speaks. I cant take her voice.

What will I do? Nothing different, because nothing will be different.

I will do many of the things I did before she was elected. I will continue to push for the changes that I believe need to be made to ensure a more democratic, just, humane, and sustainable society, just as I would if (Christ forbid.) Trump got elected.

When the majority of Americans dislike both candidates, it sure shows the primary voters didn't give a hoot about what America as a whole wanted or not. But with the Democratic primaries being rigged, one never can be sure they were the correct results. Then again on the Republican side, the choice of 40% of all GOP primary voters was chosen.

Oh well, such is life. So now the majority will suffer for the choices of a few.

Very well said.

What else would I do other than live a life full of abundance and prosperity despite what kook leftist is in there.

I can't disagree with you. In my memory, the Dems made that left turn in the Cater years during the touchy-feely '70s: this politically correct BS really gates on me and that - element has taken the Democrats away from their original domestic policies into the bathroom craze.

The true working stiffs in this country have been thrown under the bus are are being dragged yet.

I think it's interesting that nobody in the thread has - said what they intend to do to make it better for Republican candidates. I was kinda hopin some of those answers would be forthcoming.

There was no ballot stuffing... There were crooked boroughs.... There was no false ballots. There was no voter intimidation.

The 2008 democratic primary was close, this one was not.

You know come to think of it. I have been following politics since 1956 when I watched the Democratic and Republican conventions on TV. This is the first election where I see a whole bunch of people coming down hard on both candidates. It isn't just the Democrats coming down hard on the Republicans or vice versa, the Republicans coming down hard on the Democrats. Sure there is plenty of that. But there is also plenty of coming down hard on both Trump and Clinton. Along with the record low favorability ratings of both major party candidates, this too is a first.

What a unique election. Electing someone the majority doesn't want. I suppose we should have come to expect this. Party affiliation/identification is at an all time low for the two major parties and those who classify themselves as independents at a record high. The two major parties have shrunk, but they continue to hold all the power they did back in the day when 80% of Americans identified with them. Today according to Gallup, they are down to 56% and independents have grown from 18% to 42%.

If the two major parties keep giving America choices like Clinton and Trump, come ten years from now independents will cross the 50% mark. But that probably doesn't matter, the two major parties will still be calling all the shots.

I don't agree with everything either. But Hillary is disreputable and Donald is dishonorable. Gary is neither; therefore he's the best choice.
To the bolded:

Well said!

No it wasn't close. Clinton was already decided on as the the Democratic nominee before the first ballot was cast and the DNC made sure she won. Whether or not she beats Trump is irrelevant. She's tainted, could she have won without the DNC on her side along with just about every state Democratic Party organization doing its best to make sure she would win? Who knows?

The craziness that’s been going on the last several years has been a direct result of liberal/socialist/democratic experiment. I hope the voting public will wake up and vote against more of it. If Hillary Clinton actually survives and becomes President of the U.S. I will probably just find a nice shade tree to sit under, shake my head and cry.
