In a brilliant maneuver perfectly timed to complement his campaign revamp, Republican nominee Donald Trump today landed in Louisiana to witness first-hand the devastation wrought by flooding not seen there since Hurricane Katrina pummeled the Gulf Coast in 2005.

Trump’s arrival on the scene helps him on a number of levels. Most importantly, it provides a dramatic contrast to Hillary Clinton and President Obama, both of whom have neglected to visit a region where more than a dozen have died and tens of thousands have been forced out of their homes.

Acting like a leader who is there for average Americans is exactly what propelled Trump to the Republican nomination.

Nah. This just makes Trump look even more like the self-important, grandstanding jackass that he truly is.

The Governor of the state essentially asked Obama not to come just now as it's not a good time yet.

John Bel Edwards: Now is not the best time for President Obama to visit | NOLA.com

"I am not complaining about our federal partnership in any way" Edwards said, responding to comments about the president not coming to Louisiana. "The president is welcome to visit whenever he wants to visit."

Edwards said a presidential visit could cause additional problems for flood recovery efforts. Obama's motorcade requires many roadways to be shutdown -- and many local streets are still closed because of the flooding. Also, a presidential visit puts a strain on law enforcement. First responders shouldn't be pulled away to deal with Obama, when they are needed for search and rescue missions still, Edwards said."

Not at all surprised that you've been suckered yet again by Trump.

media won't cover it, doesnt fit the agenda. buckle up for venezuela, 4 more years is about all it will take.

Trump travels with a full motorcade including secret service protection. No doubt a little smaller than the Presidents, but large no less.

Not surprised you would discount the victims response to his presence in order to get your partisan rant in.

I'm not suckered by anyone.....but you are obviously are in the bag for Clinton. ;) Pathetic as it gets, too!

MARY LANDRIEU THANKS TRUMP...
On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Wolf,” former Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA), who is supporting Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, praised Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump for coming to Louisiana during the floods there and “I hope Secretary Clinton will make her way down, I hope President Obama will make a visit.”

Yep...we will be under martial law and all rights will be suspended, and it will be every man, woman and child for themselves. No wonder they want to take away our guns.

Par for the course....hate first, logic second.

I haven't discounted anything, nor have I been partisan. Why be so dishonest?

This is pure, political grandstanding. Not at all surprised you're unable to recognize it as such.

Yup, you were suckered just like you usually are, and I can't stand Clinton.

Yet more of your usual dishonesty. No surprise there.

That's nice. The governor himself requested that Obama shouldn't visit yet. Sorry that confuses you.

LOL! What an odd and active fantasy life you have.

You and logic remain hilariously unacquainted. Why try and reference something you know nothing about?

Of course you have. You've flipped both middle fingers to the victims of the flooding who where encouraged by his visit so you could get your lame "jackass" comments in.

I'm completely unsurprised you wouldn't give them a second thought.

One thing that Trump's visit has done, it made Obama take a break from his vacation and schedule a visit too.
Without Trump's visit, I rather doubt that Obama would have.

You can lie to yourself all you'd like, but it won't change reality.

I'm completely unsurprised that you're compelled to lie about my posts in lieu of any sort of rational argument.

Eh. Nothing new there.

No it shows arrogance and stupidity..

La. gov tells Trump to volunteer or donate instead of coming for photo-op | TheHill

The governor of Louisiana is telling Donald Trump to stay away from the state if he only intends to show up for a photo-op and leave.

And there is a reason to stay the hell away..

But Edwards asked the president to keep away, too, so as to not divert much-needed emergency resources to road closures and security detail.

Trump is putting peoples lives in danger by showing up for a freaking photo op... disgusting.

So far you're plowing the same ground you seem to plow everyday. I doubt you'll ever get around to planting anything at all.

People were encouraged that a Presidential Candidate came to lend support. You called that jackass grandstanding. And you question who is making a rational argument?

Case closed.

PLB.

But, or course, he didn't lend any particular support. He has no power, he holds no office. He can do nothing for them and is using them as a tool.

It's strictly to make political hay, and I can see that he suckered you as well.

No surprise there.

This doesn't help anyone but perhaps Trump. These types of visits are logistically problematic for disaster areas.

Of course he has power. He had power to give hope and comfort. What do you expect? Should he have ignored these victims of flooding completely?

I'm still waiting for evidence of rational discussion from you. So far, nothing yet.

Is "surprise" your favorite word?

Well at least now he can say that he was President (for a day).

:lamo

Relevancy called for you.

Didn't leave any message.

Decency called for you, and your line was disconnected. Trump didn't take any press along with him. If he wanted to grandstand, he surely could have. He didn't. You did grandstand right out of the gate here, and you were incorrect. I'm not surprised.

He easily could have addressed them and not have physically been there, thus potentially just getting in the way of rescue/cleanup efforts.

And people who have their homes destroyed or who have lost loved ones aren't likely to be given hope by someone just mouthing platitudes.

Someone like you who bases everything he posts purely on emotion and dishonesty isn't really interested in or capable of rational discussion, to my experience.

And you've just proven that to me again.

If you say so.

Have a nice day.
