From the responses in this thread it's probably safe to say that whatever happened to the girl is pretty horrible, and I'm not going to read it because it's not how I want to start my day.
I'm not for the death penalty myself, so I have to wonder how to protect society from sociopaths after they've been released from prison. I think a form of warning above the level of "neighbor notification" should be done. Something along the lines of a gps or chip in their skin (I really haven't thought this through) so that everybody who comes into contact with them is fully informed of the kind of people they're dealing with.
