So, turns out that the partisan witch hunt was just that...a partisan witch hunt.

The account is included in the notes the Federal Bureau of Investigation handed over to Congress on Tuesday, relaying in detail the three-and-a-half-hour interview with Mrs. Clinton in early July that led to the decision by James B. Comey, the bureau’s director, not to pursue criminal charges against her.

Separately, in a 2009 email exchange that also emerged during the F.B.I. questioning, Mrs. Clinton, who had already decided to use private email, asked Mr. Powell about his email practices when he was the nation’s top diplomat under George W. Bush, according to a person with direct knowledge of Mr. Powell’s appearance in the documents, who would not speak for attribution.

I know you're just being provocative like the NYT headline but this is from the piece and should clear things up in case anyone decides not to read the entire thing, being from the NYT and all ...

Mr. Powell’s office released a statement on Thursday night saying he had no recollection of the dinner conversation. He did write Mrs. Clinton an email memo, which may exist in the F.B.I. files, describing his use of his personal email account for unclassified messages “and how it vastly improved communications within the State Department,” the statement said.

In his memoir, “It Worked for Me,” Mr. Powell writes about his personal email, and he has taken pride in having tried to advance the antiquated technology practices at the State Department. But his use of personal email and Mrs. Clinton’s aren’t entirely parallel. Mr. Powell did not have a server at his house or rely on outside contractors, as Mrs. Clinton did at her home in Chappaqua, N.Y.

A State Department inspector general report released in May said that Mr. Powell and other senior officials had used personal email accounts for official business, but that by the time Mrs. Clinton took office the rules were clear that using a private server in such a manner was neither allowed nor encouraged because of “significant security risks.”

Pfffft! Details, details...All you need to remember is that Hillary is being picked on, and it's all Powell's fault.

Hillary was just being innovative. Personal email..."Hey, Freddy, hook me up a private server while you're at it,"

So...in addition to the things Hillary and Comey expect us to believe...

1. She didn't have any classified material on her server...except there was.
2. Her server was only used because she just wanted to use one device...except she used multiple devices.
3. She is an exceptional Secretary of State...except she didn't know how to recognize sensitive information when she saw it.
4. She's a lawyer, a First Lady, a Congressman, a Secretary of State and she's devoted her life to public service...except she doesn't know the law.
5. Etc.

...now she expects us to believe she was just doing what Powell told her to do...except she went way beyond anything he ever did.

And this is the person a whole lot of useful idiots and low-info voters want to become President??? You know...she just might make it.

Lord knows the Clintons have definitely been on the leading edge of innovation for (ahem) certain things ... but that's the subject for another thread.

Innovative? With computer and communication tech?

That's interesting given what one of her top administrative assistants wrote in an email...

Lewis Lukens, a former top administrative assistant for Mrs. Clinton, detailed her lack of knowledge in an email among Mrs. Clinton’s staffers, trying to figure out how “HRC,” as they referred to her, could read encrypted email when she only knew how to send and receive messages on a Blackberry device — and didn’t yet have access to an encrypted one.

“I talked to cheryl about this. She says problem is hrc does not know how to use a computer to do email — only bb,”

Yup. It's disingenuous as hell to parallel what Powell and Clinton did.

So now its Powell's fault, she is a lying corrupt piece of sub-human garbage.

Standard practice all around.
Don't get me started.

Standard practice does not excuse crime by anyone and the very least in the person in charge and with general responsibility.

Of course it is... you wouldn't expect the blame to fall on the Queen of the dodge , would you?

Standard practice does not excuse crime by anyone and the very least in the person in charge and with general responsibility.

I know that.
That's what I was getting at.
And the selective concern about some perps and selective unconcern about other perps makes it worse.
