Obama readies usa internet surrender

Which affects me how? Are you trying to debate these people you claim are doing that, or are you discussing it with me?

I'm debating the point of your post. You introduced context to counter another post. I addressed the facts as they relate to context today.

It's a public forum, you, others, what difference does it make?

It is not ours. We just had full oversite. Now we will share some of it.

So you where saying it was a bad idea, but did not know what you where talking about. Well, that clears things up. I will help you learn tho, but it will take alot of reading. Start here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICANN

Now that I have a clue....I maintain what I said at the beginning....real bad idea!

As I see it, it's pretty scary to think other countries will have the key to your back door.

So, to debate me for pointing out context, you say you are not going to pay attention to context because some one else somewhere, sometime, maybe, did not pay attention to context. How well is that working out for you? Do you think publicly declaring you will ignore context when you feel like it will make you more or less respected as a poster?

So you still do not have the first idea what this is about. Thank you for clearing that up.

He invented it but gave it up so all mankind not just Americans could benefit from it.

Would have made a great president....

No he didn't and no he wouldn't have. Try again.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Internet

The history of the Internet begins with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s. Initial concepts of packet networking originated in several computer science laboratories in the United States, United Kingdom, and France.[1] The US Department of Defense awarded contracts as early as the 1960s for packet network systems, including the development of the ARPANET (which would become the first network to use the Internet Protocol). The first message was sent over the ARPANET from computer science Professor Leonard Kleinrock's laboratory at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to the second network node at Stanford Research Institute (SRI).

Packet switching networks such as ARPANET, NPL network, CYCLADES, Merit Network, Tymnet, and Telenet, were developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s using a variety of communications protocols.[2] Donald Davies first designed a packet-switched network at the National Physics Laboratory in the UK, which became a testbed for UK research for almost two decades.[3][4] The ARPANET project led to the development of protocols for internetworking, in which multiple separate networks could be joined into a network of networks.

I know this might increase the connection of society as a whole but it could allow corrupt governments to file copyright strikes against human rights youtube channels or it could lead to censorship

LOL

I have no worries about publicly ignoring context when it came to Al Gores claim.

Just about every anti-Trump thread posted about his comments proves where the left stands on context, so what new ground would I be blazing by following suit?

While you may not be one of the "very liberals" who rejects context, the vast majority do, so you might want to direct comments about respect to them.

We haven't cleared anything up....stop flexing your muscles.

Assigning a domain name is not giving a key to the back door. I like the wiki page on ICANN to you for a reason.

So since you cannot actually debate me, you are back to debating your imaginary liberal. When you can actually debate me, get back to me. Till then, only one of us ignores context.

Have a nice day redress.

I'm sorry, but the left and their MSM partners have proven context has no meaning.

Al Gore said "I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

Just one of a multitude of lies from him.

End of story.

Lol :lamo

No rebuttal, just your usual inane BS.

Did Al Gore sponsor and champion legislation to provide funding for what eventually became the internet? Yes or no?

Oh, I get it now. You're being intentionally dishonest in order to combat perceived dishonesty from certain unnamed liberals. Well, isn't that special.

Sorry, I'm channeling liberals, so context has no place in the discussion.

What total poppycock!

He didn't and no he would not have made a good President. He's a liberal douche and GW is a scam and algore is a con artist!

You can bet on this.....

If China or Russia had control over the Internet as the USA currently does, there is no way EITHER would relinquish control.

At a time when China and Russia are taking unprecedented military actions globally, this is really a dumb thing to do.
But, it is a Progressive, Leftist, Democrat thing to do. Akin to giving Russia rights to our Plutonium.

Now go pet your Unicorns.

As usual...YOU only think you get it. Keep trying. The day you do will be TRULY "special" :2wave:

Channeling imaginary liberals is not your strong suit.

/sigh

Explain it to me, then, since it's obviously too deep for my comprehension. Go on, ****ing dazzle me.

So you still do not have the first idea what this is about. Thank you for clearing that up.
So why not explain it instead of mocking him.
Speaking for myself i know i still dont understand what was given away but i would like to.

There's a real thoughtful reply to a pretty obviously sarcastic statement.

Will we see certain companies who advertise(like gun companies), or people that have many gun related videos on YouTube....be censored?
Will certain political ads or ideas be censored?

Will the websight for my company, be censored?

None of that has anything to do with domain registration and number assignment which is what the article about. Ads on the internet are not in anyway controlled by it, nor is your website. However ads for gun companies, political ads, etc. on subject to the terms of service of the platform that serves them, most likely Google. Since Google is a private company they can do whatever the hell they want, same with YouTube as it is owned by Google and therefore also a private company. Your website is similar, you are subject to the terms of service of your hosting provider, which is a private company. What the agency described in the article above does is control and standardize the addresses computers use to communicate on the internet, they assign these numbers. You can read more here.

Im not really interested in the semantical argument you guys are engaged in but since i sort of started you guys off on this tangent by making an innocent joke about gore over inflated ego.

No he never said he invented the internet but he did say the internet would not exist if it wasnt for him. That has been translated into him claiming he invented it.

Sl gore and his wife are part of the duecebag class of politicans that poisions our gov. Everyone should mock him

He didn't say that, either. Where did he say that, if he hadn't taken legislative initiative, nobody else would have?
