Trump and Sarcasm...

Right from the gate, I thought he was a shoo-in

now, no way, it won't happen
That's because the longer he stuck with it, the crazier he became!

I was earlier considering him in lieu of Bernie. The 'wall' was funny and metaphorical, I thought. I figured it's his shtick. Then I couldn't believe he was desecrating McCain. But he got out of it, and I thought maybe the guy had done a huge screw-up - and was done. But instead, it just came harder and faster. By the Mexican judge incident I knew he was nuts. But yet somehow he *still* managed to get even crazier! By the post convention week I really considered that he was trying to throw the election!

I swear there's something wrong with him.

He may have disqualified himself that week (after having drawn to near parity with HRC).

He's a New Yorker - plenty speak like that - sarcasm isn't a crime

I don't feel quite that way about Bubba, and actually have some affection for him.

But I might say something similar about Hillary - except in the original context you did not 'burn' girls.

It was strictly a guy thing ...

That is true. Bill did get caught, a few times.

It's a link, just click on it in my sig.

If you can't (maybe you're blocked from his blog?). PM me and maybe we can work something out.

Oh yeah, he did block me - I forgot about that. That's okay - no need. It was only curiosity, and I really don't need to bother myself or anyone else about him anyway. Thanks, though.

back in the day when he first caught the attention of the media, he and Ivana did an interview on 60 Minutes...wow, he was impressive. Right then I thought they are a golden couple and will be heading quickly into the political scene and he will be president.

I too was intrigued when he threw his wig into the ring. I too thought wow this individual speaks his mind, is willing to go up against anyone...has a wicked sense of humor and I kind of adored his wit, and mouthy approach.

That was the pinnacle.

And then at the speed of light he went straight to hell.

I agree with you that there is something, deeply "wrong" with him. He is a loose cannon. He simply can not be placed into that role.

He can't and the powers that be won't allow it. He is dangerous to them, and to the world.

Just to let you know, we don't have access to the "ten commandments" you have in your signature. Can you post them for us? I'd really like to see that, seeing as how he hates my guts for reporting him to the Secret Service.

Quick question. You reported someone on DP to the Secret Service?

I agree with both you guys. The IDEA of Trump turned out to be far better than the reality of Trump. A non-ideological, self funding, independent, plain spoken successful businessman at the helm of government seems to be an attractive thing. He is a pro-American, pro-middle class, pro-military guy, not beholden to special interests who wants the US to be an economic powerhouse. That is a winning formula. And because he was new to the political scene and spoke without a script, it was easy to overlook some of his early mis-steps. But what is troubling is that the guy has not grown at all and seems to be getting worse. All he needed to do was demonstrate that he was up for the job as president--he needed to act presidential. He has not done that. In fact, virtually everything he does seems very un-presidential. The man is a mess and should not be elected president. That is not, however, an endorsement of Hillary. She wins this election not on her own strengths but upon the weakness of her adversary. She wins by default.

and that part is heart breaking...that is not how it is supposed to be

I also question her health. Right from the day she fainted and they said she had a concussion from the fall I thought something was wrong. People don't just pass out and end up with a concussion. There is something more there.

and it won't be good

She looked sick, sick, sick for a long time before that...heavy and bloated and exhausted.

They have ( plasticked) her up.

this whole process is a s***-show

Are you talking about Teflon Bill or his woman there too?

They both loved bathing in white waters along the way. ;)

What it shows us is that we need to keep a much better eye on politicians, officials and their families. It is not enough to make police officers wear bod cams, when you cannot tell after the fact, whether a Governor's wife cashed in on a bride or the SoS broke the law. And we certainly must punish even Presidents the same as we would any crook even if he is a lawyer and molto simpatico. ;)

Great metaphor!

Exactly right!

The right message (in general terms).

But the wrong messenger.

A squandered opportunity.

Si!

Trump at his worst is better than the idiots running this country now.

Hillary is more of the same, but with gargantuan piles of baggage, and leads a private Foundation that is still pimping money from foreign countries. Hell, even Obama is laundering money now, and he doesn't even have to.

I no longer go for the lesser of two evils. If neither major party can give us a living, breathing presidential candidate, they don't want my vote. Stalin might well have been better than Hitler and Mao might have been better than Pol Pot and Castro might be better than Barack Obama but none would have gotten my vote.

Quick question. You reported someone on DP to the Secret Service?

Yes I did. The individual made threats against Trump, wanted him to be assassinated. I warned the guy several times that he was crossing a line, that what he was doing was very, very illegal. He told me in so many words to go piss up a rope and continued on. I told him to stop making threats against Trump, or I would report him to the Secret Service. He thought I was kidding. He didn't realize that as much as I despise Trump, I still hold to the oath I took to defend the Constitution...so I did report him to the Secret Service office in Seattle that very night.

Nothing came of it, apparently - but given the same situation, I would do the same thing all over again. Hopefully he learned a couple lessons, too - in that not only is making threats against people illegal and threats against presidential candidates a matter that the Secret Service takes very seriously, but also that there are assholes like me who feel that we have to respond as a matter of upholding the oath that we took.

I realize that might all sound so trite, as if I were greatly overreacting...but to put it simply, I would never have done what I did had he not insisted on continuing to make assassination threats against a major presidential candidate even after being warned not to.

I did my duty. Nobody else has to like it.
