Hollywood suffers the wrath of it's own making... Sausage Party Racism...

Yes, being opposed to racism and bigotry is infinitely better than worrying if the Teletubbies are gay

Most of the racism and bigotry these mooks oppose is imaginary. So it's just destructive and divisive.

This whole, "SJW" is a rather made up dynamic. As in, yeah, there are some aggressive trolls, but it is largely over exaggerated and used to obscure and discredit real issues that need to be addressed, and if I gotta be on a side, I'd rather be on the side of social justice.

That said, Sausage Party looks funny, can't wait to see it.

The term SJW was created by gamergaters to describe people who stood up for some women in game development who felt that since women play games too, maybe developers should create more strong female characters and terrible things like that. Oh, and that doxing women who disagree with gamersgaters and threatening them with "corrective rape" was kinda ****ty. It has spread to mean any one who disagrees with certain people, and the few wingnuts are held up as representative of the whole.

My experience getting called an SJWer might be illustrative of how the tactic is used. There was an anime called Cross Ange, the premise is that every one in this sci fi/fantasy type realm could use magic or psychic powers, and the few who could not where seen as evil people intent on destroying society. The princess of the realm is leading the fight against these so called "norms", until it is revealed that she is one too(see the heavy handed commentary on closet gays?). She is sent to this prison, and in the of the first scenes there is subject to a forceful cavity search that comes off as rape. This would have been something of an effective scene if it was not framed with the intent to be titillating. I and a fair number of others where really turned off by that. We commented that it is stuff like that that feeds into the (generally false) impression people have of anime, and that is was really offputting. Immediately, we were labeled as SJWs, and told we were trying to ban the anime(which I never saw any one actually do). And because that is the impression people put on the whole SJW thing, people really believed it.

SJW is a convenient label slapped on people who some disagree with, not because it fits or is appropo of anything, but because once the label is applied, the weak minded can argue against the label instead of what those people are actually saying. The article in the OP is a perfect example.

I have to say, I like Seth Rogan and the way he continues to push the envelope. Around the world people either have or desire for the freedom of speech, and yet NO constitution provides for the right not to be offended.

I have spent my life listening to Polish jokes from the same pukes who protest this kind of film. If you're offended by it, don't see it.

That's what's called freedom.

Now, did you the one about the Pollock....

No one said he could not make the movie, nor that he is not free to push the envelope. They simply said the movie sucks. That is what we call freedom.

Note: I have not seen the movie myself, I have no idea if it sucks or not. I am not passing judgement on the movie.

You mean like how liberals use terms like sexism, racism, homophobia and transphobia to disregard the argument and just focus on the label? Are you sad people are using the same tactics against you? Isn't it nice when you create a wormy tactic and it ends up being thrown right back in your face? Maybe you guys shouldn't have given other people the idea. Just a thought.

It is the same thing, yes, and I would ask you to go ahead and show where I do that. Thank you in advance.

I see no reason people should stop shutting liberals up with the label. In fact, I quite like watching liberals cry about getting the same treatment they have been giving others for decades. Watching things go full circle is always nice.

I don't think so at all. I think SJWs overplayed their hand. They slap the cards (race, religion, gay) cards down so quick on everything that they don't consider that THAT discredits them. They aren't trump cards. There has to be a reason and logic. Mike Brown? Remember that POS?

This is where the whole "SJW" thing is stupid. Your article points to a handful of tweets as evidence "SJWs" are outraged at the film, despite the fact mostly the tweets used simply give it essentially negative reviews for the type of humor. And then we get people who extrapolate from that to, from this very thread:

Good point. For some reason I saw the title and instantly thought that it said something of a protest, as if they had tried to shutdown the hollywood premiere or something.

This is a very good example of needlessly giving people more power than they really have. Just let them bitch on twitter. No need to broadcast their opinions, which they are entitled to, and as long as they don't say that movies like this aren't allowed, I could care less what they say.

Yeah, but that's garbage. Comedians most certainly have faced repercussions in the past.

I mean, Lenny Bruce went to ****ing jail because of stuff like this.

That is reaching pretty far back though.

I was talking more about this internet generation that gets their news from comedy shows.

Yeah, I know that's very old.

But are you talking about stuff like the Daily Show? Or Last Week Tonight?

It doesn't matter anyway since they control all outlets that help direct society in those regards. They just act like complete morons and get away with it because they have control over the media, entertainment and education.

Quit being such a SJW, and stop trying to ban Anime just because you cannot deal with the fact that Asuka is the greatest.

Again, please show where I have been giving any one that treatment.

Rei > Asuka, and they both pale in comparison to Yuki.

I have no idea who you guys are talking about and I'm happy about that fact.

It is not tyranny to talk bad about a movie...

No, it's not, but the whole SJW aims are.

So you base your claims about me based on what other people do. Well done!

No. If however you make a similar argument to them then you will get the same SJW label as well. I'm pretty sure the right is sick and tired of the lefts ****, so get used to be treated like dirt. We told the left to stop calling us labels for bull**** reasons, but you guys didn't listen. Deal with the consequences of that.

Which aims are those? To complain about a movie?

I already said no to that.

"Social justice warrior" (commonly abbreviated SJW) is a pejorative term for an individual promoting socially progressive views;[SUP][1][/SUP] including feminism,[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP] civil rights,[SUP][1][/SUP] multiculturalism,[SUP][citation needed][/SUP] political correctness,[SUP][2][/SUP] and identity politics.[SUP][3][/SUP] The accusation of being an SJW carries implications of pursuing personal validation rather than any deep-seated conviction,[SUP][4][/SUP] and being engaged in disingenuous social justice arguments or activism to raise personal reputation.[SUP][5][/SUP]

Political Correctness, taken to the extremes that SJWs do, is tyranny, in that it attempts to control people's thoughts, and certainly seeks to censor their speech, which should be free.

An Arabic loaf of lavash (voiced by David Krumholtz ) riffs on the 77 bottles of extra-virgin olive oil awaiting him in the next life.

That literally made me laugh out loud.

These SJWs all need to get laid or something. They're very tiring. Good thing Mel Brooks wasn't making Blazing Saddles today. Can you imagine what the SJWs would have done to that?

This movie looks hilarious. I want to see it.

Blazing Saddles would have caused a complete collapse of society as we know it. Riots, lawsuits, adult children throwing tantrums in the streets...

I already said no to that.

Your source does not claim tyranny, nor does it describe tyranny. It describes some one advocating for generally liberal views.

The argument "SJWs" made in this thread was that it was a crappy movie. Do try and pay attention and read for comprehension.
