Petition with Over 35,000 signatures to remove ALL air Con from State Dept .[W:52]

Re: Petition with Over 35,000 signatures to remove ALL air Con from State Dept .[W:52

Personaly what i would of liked to hear after iran announced its intentions was for america to announce its intention to exit the nonproliferation treaty.

We entered that treaty for the purposes of disarming current stockpiles and preventing future production of new ones. That only works if the world is united on this. If the world is going to tolerate places like Iran and N. Korea developing nuclear arms. America should ratchet up its program and we can see who casts the longest shadow of nuclear terror.

America should give the world a clear choice either everyone is going to work toward disarment or everyone can try to keep up to our pace.

I'm not sure what that would accomplish. We already have enough nukes to wipe out the human race and probably most other species.

I dont think it would actually result in us making more nukes. I think the threat of the intention to would put enough pressure on the rest of the world that they would become more enfaged in preventing other nations from going nuclear and it would squash any intentions they had for expanding their own program. The world needs yo make a choice whether it wants more nukes or less of them. America declaring it intends to start producing more of them if others are insisting on making them pressures the world to stop.

I mentioned it because i am partly conservative and you indicated that you had not heard any ideas from conservatives on how to stop them without attacking them. Im offering you this as one possible way of doing it.

Hmmm. I just don't see a declaration that we're ramping up our nuclear program as having any purpose, let alone effect on Iran unless it is to encourage them to try to build their own even faster. I certainly don't think it would be a likely response for them to say "ok ok, we'll stop now".

Unless we team up with Israel and seriously go after them, I think the only thing that could have been done was to kick the can down the road, which is exactly what the deal does.

To be clear this is only my opinion.

I agree it might not deter irans efforts but it would motivate the rest of the world to deter irans efforts for them. I dont think anyone wants to get into an arms tace with us.
