Mike Pence chastised President Obama on Friday for indirectly referring to Donald Trump as a demagogue, saying - perhaps ironically - that "name calling" has no "place in public life."

But on Friday, Pence, responding directly to the president's comments about Trump at the Democratic convention on Wednesday, told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt: "I don't think name calling has any place in public life, and I thought that was unfortunate that the president of the United States would use a term like that."

Pence says this right after his buddy Trump says he wanted to "hit a couple of DNC speakers so hard". Man oh man, what is Pence smoking?

Wow, hardcore groupthink there. You don't think one should criticize one's allies? That's amazingly dumb.

Two legs bad four legs good, huh?

Seriously, if one thinks blind loyalty is required for allies, then one's ethics are messed up.

Surely Pence was well aware that Trump uses terms like Crooked Hillary, Lying Ted and Little Marco. A man of such principle would never agree to defend Trump much less run on the same ticket with him.

As long as you jumped on the bandwagon you might as well do as the romans do. I'll bet he disappointed a lot of Trump followers. He should have said he wanted to hit Obama. USA USA USA!!!

I'm pretty sure he knows and expects that once Trump's butt takes that chair he'll be subject to the same standard. However, here you have Obama, whose butt does occupy that chair, doing what he attacks a candidate for the office of doing. Shows Obama is full of **** when it comes down to it.

That's not "name calling"...

of course not obama did it,same old liberal double standered,i could care less what obama calls TRUMP,as long as TRUMP wins.
what we do not need is another obama term.

run don run

Trump spent years accusing Obama of lying about his place of birth, and you expect Obama to kiss his ***?

Besides, Trump is a demagogue. That's not a name or an insult. It's a description of the type of politics he uses to gather support.

 That's rich. That's not even good spin. Pence said nothing about "the chair", he said "public life"... all-inclusive.
