A teacher writes about the Republican assault on education

What it means and was written for is totally not what you people have intellectually raped it into meaning.

Yeah, since when should the American government be expected to do what would enable the American people to live longer, healthier lives? How tyrannical is that?

The GOP has been cutting education funding, all while trying to increase money towards our already bloated military. They are trying to eliminate successful teachers, in order to shovel money towards privately owned charter schools. They have even created vouchers which allow their parents to avoid paying taxes to public schools, and send their children to young-earth creationist run religious "education."

The GOP hates when citizens are educated. They know that educated citizens don't vote for the backwards republican party. They don't want the youth of their states getting into college, since at college, they will be introduced to new ideas, cultures, and beliefs which will expose the gop for the bigoted incompetent crooks they are.

Fortunately, the gop is dying out. Just not soon enough to save the future of millions of children in the education system they have utterly destroyed

So it's ok to violate the constitution if it benefits people?

Yes. The constitution, in the end, is just a piece of paper written by old white men, all of whom are dead. It is good to have a supreme law in place, just for stability's sake, but in the end, the wellbeing of flesh and blood citizens matters far more than the wellbeing of an old piece of paper. Just like ambulances can go over the speed limit, there must be times where the constitution should either be ignored or amended.

You know, that logic might work if you applied to individuals, but when you apply that logic to the state it essentially takes any sort of limitation on government power. The entire reason the government is supposed to be limited is because governmental power is dangerous and must be controlled.

In Ganapathy's America could people who dont aprove and or agree with the Government and its authoritarian agenda leave if they wanted to ?

Or would you set up gaurd towers every mile along the Southern and Northern borders to prevent unauthorized travel ?

You have no problem denying other people their rights. I wonder if the same could be said if your government prevented you from spewing your anti-white speech on the internet. Would you complain at that point?

You should perhaps consider restricting the scope of that statement.

That doesn't mean you should blindly throw money at the problem and think it will go away. That's the problem with big government people. Not every problem can be fixed simply by throwing tons of money at it. There needs to be a fundamental change in our schooling system. We could spend 50,000 a day on a kid to go to school. If he has no positive role models that value education, and if he himself would rather skip or sleep in class, he's still gonna learn nothing.

The problem is that people like you want to decide what would enable Americans to live longer, healthier lives.

No thanks.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies

Problem is, y'all are assuming that the money's being wasted.

That particular Inkling would be right about America if America were a tyranny...but it's not and never has been, and so your quote is of no effect. If you think America's somehow a tyranny, then I suggest you go live in a REAL tyranny for a while, then come back and let us know how tyrannical America is.

We spend more than anyone else in the world, and we get average results. What suggests the money is not being wasted?

Lol !! Sorry but youre so pitifully naive

Its not about the paper, its not about how old it is or the men who wrote on that paper or their age or their race.

Its about the timeless principles within that made this Nation truly exceptional. The concept of Natural law and individual liberty and a constrained Govt that answers to its citizens and not the other way around.

Its limitations on Govt power and authority are a roadblock for the Progressive agenda and thats why they've gone out of their way to marginalize it as just some piece of outdated paper. Its so much more.

People like you claim its irrelevant because it was written two hundred years ago but I disagree.

Its doing exactly what the founders intended by stopping foolish Left wing ideologues from implementing their authoritarian agenda at the expense of liberty 200 yeara after it was written

The Left knows the only way they can implement and sustain their agenda is through force and threats. They know given the choice that men will chose liberty over oppression, so that choice needs to be taken away from them via the end of a barrel of a gun.

They Communism doesn't stand a chance in a free society.

Why should my secretary be forced to pay for my kids' schooling and university? Education should be paid for by the individual not the state. So reducing the funding seems okay. Of course, privatizing the schools might be better.
