Black People are More Likely to Kill a Police Officer

I don't know... why do you think it is?

Haha, this illustrates the problem with *****footing around racial issues that we're dealing with.

I've offered my opinion here. The racial group that comprises 13% of the population commits the majority of overall murders, and so it makes sense that they would also be more likely to attempt to kill police officers.

It's like you are being asked "why is the ocean blue?" and your answer is... "because it's blue". You're not answering the question at all. Why do you think these murder numbers are so high for them?

We've all heard the recent headlines about police shooting black suspects, so I thought I'd look into who is most likely to kill police officers. Nobody is talking about that in the media right now. Here's what I found;

From 2004-2013, the white population of the US ranged from 70% to 63% of the country, and accounted for 52% of felonious police killings.

Blacks made up 12%-13% of the US population, but accounted for 43% of felonious killings of police officers.

Further, it appears as though the 52% figure for whites is yet again counting Hispanics as white, which means the real number of white felonious killings of police officers is likely less than 52%.

Blacks also accounted for a staggeringly high number of ambush killings on police officers:

Do police officers have a legitimate reason to feel as though black suspects represent a greater risk to them?

Police should be more respectful when dealing with black people. They should just do what the black people say and they'll be fine.

Twelve per cent of London’s men are black. But 54 per cent of the street crimes committed by men in London, along with 46 per cent of the knife crimes and more than half of the gun crimes, are thought by the Metropolitan Police to have been committed by black men.
Police statistics shed fresh light on link between crime and race - Telegraph

Different history, different continent, same crime figures.

What if the police officer is black, and so is the suspect?

Can they thumb wrestle to see who gets to call the shots?

Just answer the question, guy. WHY do you think those numbers are the way they are? You call yourself "truthatallcost", so let's see just how seriously you take your own pseudonym.

The "potential" is out of whack because blacks have been subjected to a false narrative that claims they are being killed at a greater rate than other races by officers.

So, the whole thing is based on a lie that's been hyped by the media.

Different values, different educational levels, than those who don't have a violent crime problem.

Now that's an answer. Although the "different values" is a bit vague.

The very same study that said that it's false that blacks are being killed by police at a higher rate than whites also:

1 - found that blacks are subjected to physical assault by police at a significantly higher rate than whites even when the blacks are being compliant with the officers' demands, and

2 - every single black man to whom the author of the study talked to had been verbally assaulted by police at some point.

But of course all that is just made-up stuff, because racism doesn't exist...it's only in the minds of those who point it out. Or at least that's what conservatives seem to think....

You can't just throw out a couple of names without describing how they specifically caused the numbers seen in the OP. C'mon now, be specific and detailed...and make sure that you can defend your claims.

Of course I can.

Killing LEOs is never justified. It doesn't matter why they do it.

Wrong answer. Y'all want to make the case that blacks are so much worse about it...so what is it that's making them - in your minds - so much worse?

Or are you just that afraid of asking "why"?

(disclaimer: asking "why" is part of what helped me see where MY Republican party was going in the early 90's - I'd proudly voted for Reagan and Bush 41 - and if there's anything I've seen among conservatives in general, it's the fear of asking "why")

I've answered it already, I just haven't used your particular list of scapegoats, which might be why it isn't registering for you.

Blacks are more likely to commit homicide period, which explains why they'd be more likely to be in a situation where they're attempting to kill a police officer.

Did oppression and poverty and institutionalized racism drive them to kill cops? No.

But WHY are they more likely to do so? What are the factor(s) that gives such a result?

No, you haven't said why - you, like the rest of the conservatives, are doing your utmost to actually dig into the question, to actually try to determine the actual factors involved. Y'all are avoiding the issue like the plague.

I'm still trying to figure out why so many white kids wanna be in the thug life and listen to their crap music with lyrics that mean nothing to them.

Stop distracting and avoiding and please answer the question: what are the factors that resulted in the numbers claimed by the OP?

Its not an opinion, you can read the numbers cant you? You don't like what they say doesn't change it.

You're doing the same thing as the others - looking at the numbers, but refusing - flatly refusing - to answer why those numbers are the way they are. Assuming the OP is accurate, why were more homicides committed by blacks? WHY?

And why is it that every single conservative thus far (except for one guy who claimed "it's the music!") has refused to answer the simple question "why"?

I think we all know. Every single conservative who refuses to answer the obvious question, knows what he or she thinks is the answer, but is afraid to give the answer because of how he or she would be forever labeled on DP. Y'all don't want to give what you think is the answer...because of fear. Simple, stupid fear.

I've got many black friends and I have a lot a respect for blacks who do well under the circumstances that I admit were more difficult for most of them. I also believe that the truth shall set you free. Accepting the truth is the first step in trying to do something about it. A concept that BLM crowd and all the demagogues and other race baiters (including the president himself) refuse to do. After seeing how race relations have declined during the last eight years, I don't think I'll be voting for a Democrat anytime soon.

Of course I can.

No, you can't. Why? Because - as is made obvious by your 30K+ posts on DP - you not only have the wherewithal but the desire to do so, but on this issue...you refuse to offer details or anything of real substance.

Don't feel bad - the same goes for every other conservative who's answered this thread. Every single one - see it for yourself - has ha-RUMPHed their way out of answering the simple question (unless you count the guy who made the silly claim, "It's the music!").

And we all know why y'all won't answer the simple question.

We just aren't as smart as you. I mean in cities, towns and states run by democrats Black poverty and crime are at unbearable levels. And yet.. it's somehow the Right's fault, somehow it's the police officer's fault. We're all ****ing moron too damned stupid to see the REAL problems facing the black communities. We're distracted by meaningless statistics about broken homes, multigenerational poverty, poor education and a culture that blames everyone else for it's problem.

We're just not able to see the problems are really RIGHT WING induced, and the right would just give up and let you guys do you're thing 100% all would be swell.

Cuase this time you wouldn't **** it up like you have for the last 60 years,
