Black People are More Likely to Kill a Police Officer

The problem is that out of 37 million US black folks, about 250 of which have killed police officers in the last decade, still means that odds are about 37 million to 25 that a specific black person present poses a great risk to your life. While that risk is higher than for a given white person present it is still extremely low.

I've answered it already, I just haven't used your particular list of scapegoats, which might be why it isn't registering for you.

Blacks are more likely to commit homicide period, which explains why they'd be more likely to be in a situation where they're attempting to kill a police officer.

Did oppression and poverty and institutionalized racism drive them to kill cops? No.

Peer pressure, plus being taught in school that they should never feel any pride in being white, and should only feel guilt about their race.

At 14% of the US population, Blacks number at about 47 million, compared to law enforcement who number at barely a million in total. So therefore shouldn't the threat perceptions of the 47 million be given greater consideration as compared to the threat perceptions of the 1 million?

And, police suicides exceed the number killed by felonious acts on duty. But, police officers and police administrators don't obsess on suicides. I wonder what the rate of police suicides would be if they included retired police officers?

Whether a black suspect is in fact a greater risk for an officer than a white suspect is irrelevant. The perception is what really matters.

An officer came in one night quite angry. He's stopped a car for a traffic violation and said, "Why is it, every time you stop a car load of blacks they have to give you a ration of ****?"

"How many cars loaded with blacks have you stopped so far this year?"
After a moments thought, "Two."
"Is that really enough to make a blanket statement covering around 35 million people?"
"I guess not."

A few nights later I was in a sociology class at the university. Most of the class was black for the simple reason the instructor promised a grade of "B" for simply showing up at every class and the coaches ordered their guys to take the class. During the break I went up to the defensive linemen and ask them the question. One started to get angry but another guy laughed and said, "Cause it usually works." Then they all laughed.

So, perhaps the officers perception wasn't valid but it might have been accurate.

Our real enemy is segregation and thanks to the liberals and the current administration that is getting worse.
