Nope, it's actually an accurate and thoughtful post. Leftists shouldn't have guns. Look at the alarming rate in which you people gun each down. Unless, of course, the kookers want it that way? Maybe they do?

Well, I'm a liberal, not a leftist, and I know that conservatives, if given a voice and listened to, will always end up saying something stupid. They'll advocate for more laws and fewer rights and stronger government and more power for the police. For instance, if someone is implying that black guys shouldn't have guns, bet your bottom dollar he's a conservative.

No, it's just that American conservatives have turned the terms upside-down. They say one thing and do another. Liberals, in the US and everywhere else, fought for every right that you enjoy today, and fought against conservatives to win them. It's still going on today- just watch, the next one might well be the right to assisted suicide. Liberals will get that law stricken from the books, and they'll fight against conservatives to do it.

He is trying to establish a national police force. Hell, that was one of the things on his wish list when he was running in 2008. The more controversy he can drum up the better his chances are of getting the idiots in the public to call the idiots in congress and get the plan through.

Man have you got it backwards. Liberals are big government Nanny State Fascists that fight every day to erode our constitutional rights.

Liberals got you all your rights, and conservatives limit those rights every way they can. If you should do something, a conservative will want a law that you must. If you shouldn't, conservatives want a law that you can't. Conservatives love a stern-but-fair Daddy state, a strong government, the stronger the better.
If you seriously believe that liberals are fascists, you don't know what either word means.

No they didn't, and it has been conservatives who have sought to protect your CONSTITUTIONAL rights. As opposed to that made up **** that every poor sod cries when they get caught doing something selfish they know was wrong.

Your constitution was written by liberals.
Liberals fought for every right that everyone in your country enjoys, and they fought against conservatives, all down the line. Still are. Never mind historically (you don't want to go there anyway), in my lifetime it's always been conservatives with the laws against this and against that, and liberals saying that everything is legal until there's a damn good reason for it not to be. Who brought you the war on drugs? How has that worked out for a 'small-government, no interference' philosophy? What about bible-based laws, like no gay marriage, how has that worked out for the 'small-government no interference' philosophy? Now you've been saddled with the Patriot Act and Department of Homeland Security, how's that working out for the 'small-government, no interference' philosophy? Next in line is the law against suicide, and when liberals fight for that right guess who they'll be fighting against. Conservatives, who say they're all for small government and no interference in our lives but except this needs to be against the law, well, just because.
Conservatives. They all say they advocate liberal values but they always come out on the side of more laws and more police power and more and stronger government. I think it's about fear. Conservatives are afraid, and want a strong Daddy state to protect them.

Everyone in the English-speaking world knows what I mean when I say I'm liberal. Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, Canadians, we all speak the same language. An Indian from Mumbai would know what I mean when I say I'm liberal. It's only American conservatives who have a problem with the term. There's American liberals here who call themselves 'libertarian' because they don't know that they're liberal. They think' liberal' means everything that conservatives don't like, even if it's just an invention, when liberal actually means everything conservatives admire and wish they could sincerely believe except they're too scared. They say they're for small government and no interference but they want their Daddy state to protect them and preserve their values. They're afraid of where society might go if it's not firmly guided.
Conservatives fight liberals every inch of the way while liberals are fighting for personal rights and freedoms.

I'm telling you in America liberals have a big government solution for everything and work tirelessly to erode our constitutional rights. In America the Nanny State is synonymous with liberals. Democrats, liberals are the welfare state. If that's what you call conservatives everywhere else in the world I can't help that. We're backwards I guess.
