Do you really think addressing injustice for only one race, when obviously other races are experiencing the same thing, isnt racist? At the very least what about the other minorities?
Those black people that you mentioned that are armed probably mostly have stolen guns already involved in crimes. And the trend developing is that when there is a excuse too, they go commit more crimes. So no I am not at all surprised that a bunch of gang bangers want to kill cops. Hell they have been rapping about that for years.
It really sucks when sincere protesters get out voiced by gang bangers burning communities and shooting cops. Seriously why dont people protest what these armed gangs are doing to good communities?
First I want to say I agree completely with some of what you said. I think it is a tragedy when I believe a black lives matter protest was happening in Dallas, and black protestors were even taking picture with white cops, and were all smiling....to me, that is constructive, that is what needs to be done. As Ghandi and MLK said, Civil Disobedience. I am not saying I agree with what those men did. And it is horrible that they did it. I hold high value to cops, but I think cops should be put on high standards. Right now, I don't think they are, which what you said, affects all minorities.
The problem, is I believe there are multiple studies done throughout the years that show that blacks particularly are pulled over the most. I am not going to look it up, I could be wrong here, but maybe the incarceration rate the is the highest with blacks. It IS a problem for all minorities, but especially blacks. On top of that, you have history. And white people generally don't understand why black people are mad at this current world when they learn about slavery in the south. My mom always said, why don't you just get over it?
But we're white. At least I am. My "race" hasn't been oppressed from my limited knowledge of history, and in fact, whites have done many other dreadful things to people other than slavery. I'm thinking the Inquisition, but again, I could be wrong. I have no idea what it truly feels like to be black because I am not black. And apparently, when you are black, and you learn of slavery, it effects you in some ways. It isn't just a group of black people, it's the whole community. And then you have the issues I described above.
Rap and gangbanging I have read from multiple bad sources, so take it with a grain of salt, rap was pushed by the music industry because they invested in the prison industry. So they pushed this style of music, with lots of money, to promote incarceration. Not only does the record company make money from the records, but also their investments. Again, it's just something to consider.
Poverty has a huge thing to do with this. And this gets into politics of right and left, what should we do economically, but if we were to theoretically eliminate all poverty, drug problems would plummit and crimes in general would go down. A lot of crime, believe it or not, is a form of survival. I'm not saying it is right. It is just needing to survive forces many people to rob a Quick Trip, or even rob liquor stores. They don't have the money to buy liquor that they are addicted to because their lives are extremely difficult because they are in poverty. If poverty was so easy for people to get out off, why is there a problem? Is it because these minorities are stupid? Their schools are crap, but we don't help them.
Again, I agree with a lot of what you said. But I think there is a reason, rather than a race does this just because. I refuse to believe that. We all share 99.99999 percent of our DNA with everybody. If my ancestors were enslaved, and I am doing what I can to provide for my family and life is just hell, I would be mad to. And if I didn't have the education, I might do some very unwise things with my feelings because I really don't know better. That's what I believe. I maybe wrong. But cops need to be prosecuted with high standards. Lawyers have to be ethical. And prisons need to get out of the private sector. And somehow, I hope bipartisan, we can find out a way to alleviate poverty. Just my two cents.
