America was never great

We have water stations in the middle of the desert so people don't die trying to get here by walking.

America is the greatest place in the history of man. If you can't make it in America you just suck at life.
 
I don't know about that hashtag, I don't spend Time in the toilet bowl that is Twitter.

But America is not nearly as great as many say it is.

Unchecked and corrupt government and exploitative capitalism has made Americas economy extremely unfair and destructive to the lower classes, an unjust justice system only perpetuates that problem.

On top of that you have millions of Americans so angry and misguided they may very well elect the likes of Trump to office... Obviously there's some serious "not great" going on.

All the countries where women have the right to vote gained it in the 1900s (except for the few behind the times who finally got on board in the 21st century). And is that not great that women can vote?

Did you know woman couldn't vote on the federal level in Switzerland until 1971? Whoa. I didn't know that until I just looked up women's suffrage around the world.

America isn't all bad.

I love visiting, and obviously the chaos of American fuelled drug wars in Central America and Mexico makes the relative safety and relatively better opportunities of America alluring.

But let's not forget again, that it is Americans relative affluence and insatiable appetite for illicit drugs, compounded by the idiotic and incorrect policy of prohibition that is PART of the reason these countries south of your border are in very dire situations that force people north.

they could just open their borders so they could take the main roads and then they wouldn't have to crawl through the desert like animals to begin with

That I bolded is highly debatable IMO, as we have been sliding in freedoms in relation to some of our peer nations.

We definitely are slipping in economic freedom (mobility) as of late, and the War on Drugs & Patriotic Act have been decimating the Constitution IMO. And now there's the recent rise in nationalism, with one Presidential candidate earlier proposing a religious test to enter the country.

We are a great country, no doubt - but we've been slipping off our game, as of late. And as someone who experienced the greatness of the country and the freedom expansions implemented by the Warren Court in the post-war decades, it pisses me off to no end!

Twitter started out as the Facebook for black people, I see no use for it beyond celebrities and those in the media
 
Hypernatiolism rarely leads to a positive, prefer to keep my patriotism private and understated

If there's nothing great about the USA, why do we have to build walls to keep people out? The US is a great country. What it's NOT is perfect.

You can debate it all you want but it's easily America. There are all these metrics that try to show that America isn't that free and when you look into the methodology it's usually junk.

Freedom of speech, no other country even comes close, freedom to protect yourself with a firearm, freedom of religion, ect

Heck even on abortion America has the most freedom
