Yes, the Venezuelan people suffer for their Socialism, as all socialist countries eventually do, but that didn't prevent Hugo Chavez from getting support from ignorant celebrities (perhaps an oxymoron) who always put ideologies and theories over facts.

Now many of these people who supported Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro are supporting Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. This ideology has had stakes driven through its heart dozens of times over the decades but refuses to die. It's a take on the Barnum idea that there's an idiot born every minute.
