U.S. Corporations Hide More than $ 1 Trillion!

It gets the money in the first place by taking it from the people. The gov has been run like a business.. a very poorly run business.. for a long time.

Because that is what a government is suppose to do, a government is not a for profit business.

Correct. it should be run so it has close to zero balance give or take. but we haven't done that in quite awhile have we.

Evidently these evil ****ers didn't hide their ill gotten gains very well, if everybody knows about it.

It's funny that an institution that people claim exists to protect the rights of it's citizens violates peoples rights in order to do it. It's like the government just falls right on its face on its first step.

Mainly that is not how it should be run at least all the time, some debt is good.

Where does it say that people have the right to not be taxed?

That depends on what it is for and who it is to. debt to the people who bought bonds.. that's good debt. debt from playing a shell game of issuing and buying I find it very hard to see good coming from that ultimately.

Do you think that taking peoples property by force is the government protecting the peoples rights? Do you think taking this money under threat of imprisonment is not somehow coercive? Come on man, the government is supposed to protect the peoples right to property, not force them to give their property up. The government never even gets past the damn starting line before they fail at doing their job.

Where does it say the government has the right to impose confiscatory double, triple, and even quadruple taxation?

It is a way to stimulate the economy by influencing interest rates.

Corporations pay workers to make a profit. In other word the profit off of their work. The exploit people for money. If you want to call this earning there money fine. But in no way should they not pay tax's on it. Also much else is given to these corporations in tax breaks & subsides.

Then should in no way be able to hide money from the community that makes the wealth possible.

Because without taxes the government cannot actually function.

I believe everyone has the right to education and healthcare, see how that works. The government needs taxes in order to run and provide services.

How does someone have a right to an education? Education is a service provided by others that takes money to exist. How does your right declaration even begin to make sense?

How does your right even begin to make sense? Education is necessary for a functioning society and therefore people have a right to access.

That money is already taxed. You're basically just saying the government should tax the money again.

You're really going to have to defend this notion that human rights should place obligations on others to act and spend their own money to make sure the right exists and is provided to the people. Considering you just violated at least two rights there, good luck.

No its not, that's why they pay people in Panama to hide it.

"Profit is a financial benefit that is realized when the amount of revenue gained from a business activity exceeds the expenses, costs and taxes needed to sustain the activity. Any profit that is gained goes to the business's owners, who may or may not decide to spend it on the business."

So taxing the profits is the government doing what? Why do you people think you're not getting caught taxing the same money twice?

There are two kinds of profit for business, gross profit and net profit. Gross profit is the money you make after taking your revenues and subtracting your expenses. Net profit is that minus any taxes. What all these article are referring to as "profit" is gross profit which through various methods and creative accounting is transferred in such a way to pay no or little tax.

That's why they go to Panama & set up 47 shell companies to launder the money & hide it from the government.

How else can a company like GE make billions & get a 400 million dollar tax refund from the government. Or from you & me who pay out tax's.

Private property is by definition a restriction of everyone else's access to that thing. Restricting people's freedom without their consent - the democratic consent of the governed - is a pretty unethical thing to do. I would have assumed libertarians of all people would recognise that! Therefore the only ethically defensible property 'rights' are those which are determined by society: And in the case of most if not every modern successful country, societies have decided that property should be subject to conditions such as taxation.

The 'taxation is theft' rhetoric depends on wilful blindness either to what private property is, or to the only ethically defensible basis for it.
