The Criticism of Trump That Few Will Utter

The article you link appears to confirm what I'm saying. In the current American political landscape it's left wingers who are the most authoritarian, who dearly wish for a huge government running everything and taking care of them. Republicans, especially Tea Party people, are exactly the opposite. They want a smaller government with less power. Trump is definitely a big government Republican, and authoritarian. He's talking about the federal government taking control of all sorts of things. His followers want him to take control and make things right. So it becomes just a matter of which policies the big, authoritarian government follows.

So, if some candidate were promising to give humans the power of flight, anyone who mentions that it's impossible would be considered anti-flight. I get it. The Tea Party can imagine all sorts of realities that don't and can't exist and we're supposed to pretend that they can wave their libertarian wands and change the entire dynamic of our society, its history and, indeed, the physical laws of nature. What fools!

I assume you haven't already linked the latter because it doesn't exist.

Not on the blogs you read at least...
Not all authoritarians are Republicans by any means; in national surveys since 1992, many authoritarians have also self-identified as independents and Democrats. And in the 2008 Democratic primary, the political scientist Marc Hetherington found that authoritarianism mattered more than income, ideology, gender, age and education in predicting whether voters preferred Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama. But Hetherington has also found, based on 14 years of polling, that authoritarians have steadily moved from the Democratic to the Republican Party over time. He hypothesizes that the trend began decades ago, as Democrats embraced civil rights, gay rights, employment protections and other political positions valuing freedom and equality. In my poll results, authoritarianism was not a statistically significant factor in the Democratic primary race, at least not so far, but it does appear to be playing an important role on the Republican side. Indeed, 49 percent of likely Republican primary voters I surveyed score in the top quarter of the authoritarian scale—more than twice as many as Democratic voters.

He can't be any worse than what we have now.

Like hell he cannot. Trumps the worst candidate since Obama. And Obama's been quite enough failure for one nation.

Of course over half of Americans disagree but you must be right because.................

President Barack Obama's approval rating climbed above 50% in a new poll for the first time in more than two years, a level that could prove significant in the 2016 election.
Obama approval rating soars above 50% - Business Insider
The poll, from ABC and The Washington Post, found that 51% of Americans approve of Obama's job performance, up 6 points from July.

Trump can't be worse than BO. Because BO IS the worse. And there's absolutely zero evidence to suggest Trump tops BO in suckiness. Now, having said that, I am not a Trump supporter but the man deserves the benefit of the doubt especially after the crap we have in the White House right now.

-I'm gonna build a wall and make Mexico pay for it! Because... trade deficit! I'll get the money from the trade deficit! (that's not how trade deficits work)
-No, wait, I'm gonna do it with the USA PATRIOT act. Doesn't work that way either, also illegal, but I'll do it!
-Obama is too PC in his wars, I'm gonna commit war crimes.
-I'm gonna violate the first amendment regarding Muslims
-I'm gonna steal the oil from Iraq and use it to fund veteran care. Iraq invasion 3.0!
-I can control oil prices by just telling other countries not to raise their prices
-I have more military training than some of the guys who go into the military!
-I'm gonna start a trade war with China
-I'm gonna keep some key provisions from Obamacare but repeal the provisions that actually pay for them

This isn't evidence. It's simply you fearing what you don't understand.
