I don't think Trump is advocating a "more intrusive" government and we don't need to grow government to deal with illegal aliens. We just need to enforce existing laws.
But hey, I'm not surprised liberals such as yourself will disingenuously spin what Trump is saying. After all, he threatens to upset the D.C. establishment applecart. I'm thinking that's what Trump supporters like most about him.
Really? You really think our existing police forces and prison system have the surge capacity to handle an additional 12 MILLION people, millions of which are children? Do you have any clue what goes into taking even one family into custody? And let's not forget that millions of those people will be fighting their deportation in court...usually using court-appointed (and taxpayer-funded) attorneys...and rightfully so, since everyone - even illegal aliens - deserve their day in court...especially given that there's been more than a few instances of American citizens being deported because the government THOUGHT they were illegals and didn't give them a chance to prove they were citizens.
So...yeah, the government WOULD be grown! And that's not even taking into account the social upheaval at seeing groups of cops going door-to-door in the barrio saying, "Papers, please"...because that's they only way they could do it. Considering the sheer numbers - twelve freaking millions, hidden among 320M Americans in fifty different states - the kind of thing your talking about would require a national effort of searching houses and buildings door-to-door on a scale far beyond anything attempted by the Germans before WWII.
But I guess that's what we would call the conservative ideal of "small government".
