This is a thread that is open to everyone with one restriction please, it is NOT about Presidents past, present or future. If you post Bush, Obama or whomever is/was/will be a dumbass I'll report the post and ask for it to be removed.

This thread is about legislative dumbassery. We are seeing a lot of it from both ruling parties. America is tired of legislative stupidity. Both parties are beginning to understand that at the national level. At the state level? Oh hell no! Stupidity abounds and both parties seem to think we like mind numbing legislative stupidity at the state level.

Here's one example at random to begin:

Alabama Republicans say they want a new bill to drastically limit state welfare programs so that recipients will get jobs — but the bill eliminates the most common means of transportation to and from work.

The bill, created by Republican Sen. Arthur Orr, cuts the time frame for assistance from five years to three. It also creates a new layer of bureaucracy for poor people seeking help, including the requirement that they sign a contract vowing to adhere to the program’s rules. It also disqualifies people from getting food stamps or financial assistance for families with children if the recipients own cars, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.

Pretty dumb, owning a car should not disqualify someone, maybe owning multiple, but not one. Heck around the country many charities including religious charities take donated cars and fix them up for poor people, or fix the cars owned by poor people, depending on criteria like income, expenses, family size etc.

I can just imagine when someone loses govt benefits because cars for jesus donated a 96 buick park avenue to them and the govt is like no you are too rich you have a beatup old car given to you.
