Hardly a conspiracy theory... aside from the shortage of specific evidence; in particular that the vast range of political views the OP disagrees with must all be somehow united in China's best interests :lol:

But hiring others to publicly represent a point of view is nothing new, and internet users could come pretty cheap in many overseas countries. I'm curious however why Orly thinks a foreign power is a more likely candidate for having paid shills on an international political forum than, say, the various lobby groups to whom this kind of thing is second nature.

Its an easier approach than having to actually think, I suppose.

You know, this perhaps really is a revelation.

Now this is maybe what accounts for the piss poor "attempts" at actual argumentation, the lack of logic, facts or even thought so often expressed. Just the brainless bandying about of the words bigot, racist, homophobe, chauvinist in place of real debate, slapping down the usual you are an idiot, stupid $#@!head etc... maybe with the upper tier, more experienced apprentices using words like imbecilic, moronic or perhaps using a thesaurus once in a great while.

I guess that is the quality you get if you only pay 15 cents per post. Armed with this knowledge I understand that our opponents here are just underpaid tools of the Chinese "Man". Un to under-educated, but not their fault, they are just doing their factory job.

The sad truth is that Chinas involvement isn't necessary.....there really are that many ignorant, kool-aid drinking, hollow between the ears people who think like these alleged Chinese, right here on American soil born and bred on propaganda, fruit loops and a gubbment handout.

They've been taught that business is bad, guns are evil, football is a dangerous sport and that all humans can live in harmony together....if only given the chance (and a job).
But most importantly, that the only way to Utopia is via the yellow brick road of government micro-management and control over their lives and everyone eles's.

A clever little conspiracy theory since it’s impossible to challenge without inviting accusations yourself which would be impossible to disprove even if they’re not true. That leaves it open for anything you don’t want to (or can’t) address to be dismissed as foreign trolls.

You’ll probably earn a whole dollar for this one. ;)

Well, credit must go to Orly for acknowledging that such suspicions/dismissal could be applied to ANY adequately funded and motivated point of view.

Honestly, I'd always thought the 'paid shill' possibility was more commonly and obviously applied in business-relevant issues like tobacco or climate change. Maybe the point of the OP was bright enough to simply turn the tables, to show that it could go both ways; which it could, and hence is an utterly useless and pointless suspicion in debate.

Unfortunately, a couple of other posters seem to have taken the OP seriously, on face value :(
